I have been babbling about this around the forums for awhile. Grass, or the lack of it, always bugged me. If we can just have some groups of tall grass to fill areas "cheaply" that would be wonderful. :D:D:D:D

Awesome work, just what i needed for my routes, i hope you are planning on releasing it.
Love to see what Derek can cook up too since you finally managed to convince him to make some :)

If you will release it, could you clump the grass together into one shape file for better framerates?

I would guess that shapefile processor needs the original source graphic and that is somewhere in the vaults of the Tower!

I also, for my own personal taste, modified some tree textures to remove the high reflectivity glistening characteristics. I also like a bit darker trees. All this gets in to "taste". Easy to do using RS-Tools to convert the original RS formatted graphic file to DDS. Then use GIMP 2.4 (free) to re-paint the object. Gimp saves in DDS format but it is not a DXT3/DDS format. I use DXTBmp for add the DXT3 flavor and then RS-Tools to convert that to RS format and properly place it in place of the original. RS-Tools makes a no-cost backup for you.

Attached is a zip of Grass_test_02.TgPcDx. This is the Wheat texture. The tip of the vegetation need some more work. Don't know if this will help.

Thanks for the offer, but seeing as I produced all the foliage in RS I do have all the source files.

Thanks a bunch Derek, exactly what i have been dying for since i got RS! I think there will be a few more grassy fields and abandoned overgrown sidings appearing on my layouts soon :)

The previous picture is an ample illustration as to why foliage is so very important to a railsim. By that I mean BOTH ground level and trees. In fact the trees look better than those currently in the program. Were they adjusted for use in Isle of Wight? They look more real in terms of brightness. I altered many tree textures just to make them closer to the Eastern USA.
