i hope this is the right place to post this.
i'm looking for a route which has lots of activities has passenger running and is freeware. I already have NECv4 i'm looking at downloading the milwaukee road but that might be a bit too much for my comp to handle. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I never hinder what route I get with those with less activities written. Learn to make your own activities and any and all routes ever made is open to you.
Making your own activities isn't rocket science. It just takes patience in learning how to use the editors.
And if you don't know how to use them. There are lots of tutorials out there for you to get into learning them. Such a site like steam4me is very useful in almost everything in MSTS.
So go ahead and take a look over at Steam4Me (http://steam4me.railpage.org.au/trainsim/#sl)
You are otherwise missing in on a lot of wonderful routes out there if you do limit yourself to this.

You might want to have a look at Marias Pass V 3.1 as it has many activities with it.The only passenger train over it though is the Empire Builder.

Actually the post is very valid, and I've wrote plenty of activities for myself. The problem with MSTS is who wants to read their own novels? I really hope that even without MP supported that MSTS2 gets a handle on dynamic activities that change every time you run them. The only time I have any fun with my own creations is when I have Activiy Changer and Activity Generator changing the AI timings and my pickups and setouts for me. But MSTS is not perfect and even with those 2 fine programs your bound to run into an issue with the signals at some point.
Every now and then I want to just run someone else's handywork that should work pretty good, and give me a few hours of fun.
Thanks
Sean
Well, if you like old steam eras. Then there's one I can recommend to you, but it's a route based on the old Settle and Carlisle route. It's the one called Skipton and Carlisle set in the 1920's.
There are at least up to 40 activities bundled in with the route and all the needed locomotives and rolling stock comes with it so there is no other extra download needed to get it. The only essential is for you to download the route itself.
Only thing is, it's only available via UKTrainSim (http://www.uktrainsim.com/index.php). Which does have some limits with its downloads unless you are a paying member, then download speed limits are only dependent on your internet connection speed.
The route is a great remake of the old default Settle and Carlisle and extended some up to the area of Skipton in the UK. Just mind you the setting is in the 1920's so the most you'd get also in locomotive power is no more than what you'd see with the American class 4-4-0 locomotives. And of course this is in the UK, so all locomotives and rolling stock is UK based. A big thanks to the team of Pat Dalton, Malcolm Roper and Paul Mitchell for creating such a nice route.
Because of the number of activities, I still have yet to finish what there is to offer on what they have in the activities list. And I downloaded this over a month ago already.
This route would be for you if you happen to be a steam head. Otherwise this kind of route may not be your cup of tea.

thanks for all your replys. I know how and have made my own activities however it just doesn't seem as good as other peoples and its true what survivorsean said. UKtrainsim has so many great routes with just what im looking for but im not a premier member so it would take forever for most routes. I'm not against paying for things its just that i haven't really gotten into the online paying of things. if payware routes were in stores i would buy them straight away.
i am also in australia so making good activities for american routes can be hard since i don't know as much about them.
any more suggestions would be appreciated just so i could get an idea of whats out there.

"any more suggestions would be appreciated just so i could get an idea of whats out there."
There are quite a lot of North American routes out there with a good set of activities developed for them. Here is my own, completely subjective and incomplete list:
The first place to look might be any of Richard Garber's routes. AFAIK he has done four routes now, all of them with dozens of activites. Ohio Rails even has way more than 100 acts, or had at some point. Check it out! Pay and freeware: http://www.edmfamily.com/msts/
You could also look for some authors and see what routes they developed for:
Over at 3dtrains, look for Kevin Arcenaux's "Lone Wolf" Activities: many many modern era runs: http://www.3dtrains.com/forums/index.php?showforum=20 (you might have to have a 3dt forum registration)
Here at t-s, look for Rick Franzosa, he has done many 1st gen diesel acts for various routes, many New Haven, Great Northern, and some Pennsy included! Great stuff!
Finally excuse me to blow my own horn: for my routes, GN Hi-Line and Allegheny Rails, are several activities available (also in the file library): http://www.gnpaintshed.de.vu/GNOldShort/AR/ and http://www.gnpaintshed.de.vu/Activity/
Cheers!
Michael
I second that motion on Rich Garber's Ohio Rail.
The freeware version is also available in Hawk's site here (http://hawkdawg.com/MSTS/rts/or/or.htm).
Even in the freeware version 10 it's got quite a bit of activities in there. I had fun on running the given activities in there. Plus it's got a good story line written for it. Read the documentation that comes with it. :)

LOL @ Micheal. You had to blow that horn eh? LOL
He also says that he's got the Allegheny Rails inspiration from Rich Garber's Ohio Rail route.

Hello Josh,
Lukas's (aka Swissie) upgraded RMD-1 V2 runs just fine on my older PC. You'll also want to get his engine and rolling stock downloads for the route. At this time he is still beta testing activities for the route that include both freight and passenger operations. I realize you are looking for routes with both freight and passenger operations, but you may want to look into downloading the Pokey. There are a lot of activities written for this route. No passenger activities that I know of, but I could be wrong :) Like Micheal, I'll toot my horn a little and say there are a few activities written for the L&HR version 3.0.

i was looking at getting the allegheny rails route because of its many activities but the rolling stock required was payware. I've now installed Marias Pass 3.1. All your suggestions are great and is just what im looking for the passenger bit was just an extra. When the activity pack comes out for the RMD i'll get that.
Also how many activities come with RMD-1 V2 and what rolling stock is required?

that Rick Franzosa i saw has many activities for bay colony but its the payware stock which stops me from getting these. I don't want yous to think im a cheapskate or that im against paying for things as i said before its just paying for things online.
