Is the new MSTS 2 going to have it so that all passenger cars have enterable interiors? Is it also going to have a mode where we can just sit back and enjoy the view and walk around from car to car? I think this would be a cool feature. It would be nice to take a break from driving here and there, and just enjoy the ride.

There will be passenger interiors in some of the passenger cars. It will have a fixed viewpoint but like the cab you will be able to pan around in that fixed location.

There are no plans to make a first person camera to walk through the consist of passenger cars.

I like the idea, but I think it would be a little challenging first rattle out of the box for us.

Thank you for answering one of my questions, Mike!;) Will there be a "Train Ride" or "Passenger" Mode in MSTS 2 also? And at stations, when passengers get in or get off, will we see them walk in the interior of the cars and find a seat (realistically speaking)?

Hi Mike

Would it be possible for third parties to add interiors to items not shipped with same ??

I don't think even FSX has the ability to walk around the cabins, does it?

Not out of the box, but there are a couple of 3rd party add-ons that let you walk in the FSX world (e.g around the tarmac) and around the plane cockpits and cabins (assuming the cabin is modeled for a particular plane).

I didn't know that... I seem to remember someone did a "parachute jumper" aircraft once, you just fell out of the sky, but that would be interesting - wonder what would happen to the plane?

LOL

Driverman: You can set the autopilot and ride the rails in the passenger space.

3Directions: Absolutely, we are counting on that.

rdamurphy: It isn't possible out of the box, I am sure there are some sort of add ons for FSX to allow this to happen.

Another question for you Mike (or anyone else at Microsoft). Will there be music playing in the passenger cars (like on the Orient Express in MSTS 1)? Will there also be an option in which we can import our favorite songs (from "I-tunes" or "My Music" and have them play in the passenger cars)?

Edit: Mike, that's awesome that there will be an Autodrive/autopilot feature!

Doesn't it work in one of the Combat FS's though? I seem to remember you can bail out... Maybe I'm thinking of another game, I haven't play flight sims in a while...

I was j/k anyway!

Now, in the passenger car view, if you look down, will you be able to see the torso, arms, and legs of the passenger in the first person/passenger view?

The camera is not a person, so you can't see anything, unless you put the camera above a passenger who is riding the train. Same goes for the engineer in the cab.

Thanks Stonelance! What about music in the passenger cars, will that return from MSTS 1? And will the passengers get on and off the train at stations realistically?
