I have an unfinished GENERIC 0-6-0 switcher model that I'd like to offer for completion and conversion.

The model comes in at 42k polys as is, rods are animated and is in 3ds format and is scaled in feet. If needed he/she who finishes this model may rebuild certain parts to reach lower poly count.

Anyone who wants to tackle and finish this loco is welcome to do so but at ONE condition: I do NOT want the locomotive to be completely rebuilt to something that exists or turned into another type! Any road name or number is up to you. Remaining details such as Stephenson valvegear inside the frames, smokebox details, cab details/interior, suspension, tender details and couplers etc are free to be designed and added as he/she wishes.

Looks nice!:) It reminds me of an old Pennsy 0-6-0 switcher (I'll say a B4 class).

Whoever wants to tackle this, PM me and I can make some sounds for it. (I.E. Whistle, Bell, and Chuff) I also would like to skin it or something.

That's a very generous offer. You stated that the model is scaled in feet. How much of a task would it be to convert to meters as is required by RS? I'm not familiar enough with 3DS Max to know if it's a simple conversion or complicated.

Craig

If in feet, scale up by 0.304 for meters, 30.4 for cm & 304 for mm.

If in inches, scale up by .025 for meters, 2.5 for cm & 25 for mm.

Or, set your units to meters in 3ds Max, open the .max file, and you will get a window informing you that the file is in feet, and an option to keep or scale the max model/scene.

Cheers

or just set the units in a blank drawing and import it. it should scale to the units of the drawing if the option is checked.

btw that locomotive is SWEET.
