I used to have a model railroad type sim, that you started out by picking the size of the table, then you did all the track laying, landscaping, buildings etc... it wasnt a tycoon type game, so there was no real "objective" it was just like model railroading just on the computer... anyone happen to know what sim Im talking about? its been a while and I went searching for it but cant seem to find it, figured Id ask on here and hope someone knows what Im talking about. it was like $10 on a no name website, not a big name brand game...
thanks In advance

You may want to give your try on Trainz anyway, even if it's not what you were looking for. As that would give you a lot of expandability, since it's got a fairly large community for it. With lots of free addons you can find in their own website.
Auran Trainz (http://www.auran.com/trainz/)
The way Trainz was originally built, it was specifically done with the model railroader in mind. I have it and it's fairly easy to build your own layouts. Even up to mimicking the real railroad itself. The only reason I never cared for it much is that I like the realistic colors of MSTS better than that newer sim. Plus I rather like the train operations better in MSTS also. :)

tks for the replies
what I liked about it was that I was never actually IN the train, I could lay track and buildings, then set like switches, that when a train passed over a certain location it would activate another to start by activating the power on that specific piece of track so I wasnt really controlling the actual trains, just the power to the tracks to make them do what I wanted them to do
