View Full Version : P&WV Simulation Question

I have the P&WV running fine on the intro ride. I downloaded some activities and soon as MSTS starts the simulation it crashes. The Activities were Montour Run and Cargoh. The Cargoh uses all default equipment. I've used RR and have not made any headway. Any thoughts.

Hello Fred,
I am the creator of the route, but I did not write the activity. I'm wondering if the activity was created for a previous version of the route and may have a broken path that needs corrected. I'll let you know what I find.

Hello Fred,
Only the following three activities will run on the P&WV Version 2.3

pwv_act2.zip
pwv_act3.zip
pwv_act4.zip

All others will require you to correct path errors since they where created for a previous version of the route. Here is an excellent tutorial on how to correct broken paths using the Activity Editor.

Thank you for the information. I will get the turtorial and start to work. Looks like a really nice route. I'm looking forward to running it.

Hello Fred,
Thank you for the compliments on the route. I'll have to admit it's starting to show it's age (2003 release). It's not perfect but I feel it's still represents the area fairly well. If you have not already done so, I highly recommend installing the latest stable version of MSTS bin. The route does have a white void problem between Rea and Avella that the MSTS bin patch eliminates.

Rich, are you thinking about upgrading the route or anything? I am just curious.

Hello Scott,
I was thinking about doing the entire route when MSTS 2 is released, but now it looks like that may not be until 4th quarter '09. In the mean time I may consider a scenery update for the P&WV version 2.3 as I never did finish the area around Hills station.

as a railroader myself, i really enjoy the P&WV route! have run many AJ's over the last few years. hope you continue the great work. read you are considering updating or even finishing the entire P&WV....hope you do as i am a die-hard WM/P&WV fan for many years now. even the entire Montour would be great as well! (hint hint)
