I Have A New Computer With Window's Vista.
It Says I Have to Download and Install A Program from Microsoft To Run My Editors & Tools
In Train-Sim. How Do I Install It and Get It To Work?
Also When I Installed Train Store Whenever I Try to Run An Activity In the Lower left Corner the Word MOVE Comes Up and Then A File name Comes Up in the Bottom That Times Out and I get A Popup Saying Train Store is Trying to Install This Item But It Can't.
What Causes This or Am I Doing Something Wrong That Won't Let Train Store Run Any Activities. Also I Assume That the Older Conbuilder Won't Work and That I Need to Buy and Install it.
If I Do But It Will It Install and Work properly With The Vista System.
I'm Still Fairly Computer Illiterate But I Do Wan't The Game to Work Along With These Programs That Are Supposed to Help It Run Better.
Any Help Will Be Greatly Appreciated.
I Would Prefer to use Conbuilder Instead of Editors & Tools.
Also Do I Really Need Train Store?
Thanks,
Dave K

Hi,
What I can say about trainstore is that it is a wonderful utillity. It took me a long time to unpack it and give it a go, but since I have, I would never work without it.
You can "store" everything not needed for the activities you are interested in running - engines, rolling stock, other routes, etc. This means MSTS has alot less to load during the startup process.
There are so many other things trainstore can do, I just haven't played with it yet. I would say along with route riter & conbuilder, trainstore is a must have for MSTS. But, read the doc entirely, or in pieces - it is a robust little utillity with lots of functionality.

All or most of the utilities like conbuilder, Route riter and train store that worked with XP will work on Vista but, remember you should set these programs to "Run as Administrator" on your Vista machine. I have all these programs on both of my XP and Vista machine running with no problems. As for the train store, it is a good necessarties if you have a lot of routes, locos, & rolling stocks installed under one MSTS. I usually use the classic view of train store, I never ran the game from the train store.
