I apologize if this has been addressed recently but I searched this forum pretty extensively and haven't seen it addressed lately....at least not this year anyway!
So...currently, from what I've read, MSTS still seems to be the best rail sim due the the vast amount of addons and user created updates available. I'm assembling a new, relatively fast, pc and haven't had MSTS installed for years, but I'd like to run a train sim of some sort.
The demos for RTS and Trainz 2006 (the latest one's available, I think) don't look very much improved. Is it worth reinstalling MSTS and the improvements (are there currently many respectable addons for Trainz or KRS?)or is waiting for the newer ones advised? What about Trainz 2009? How will it compare to MSTSX? Is Kuju planning on a new version?
I know there are multiple questions here and I'd appreciate any input this very active forum could provide.

With all the work released in the past couple years, MSTS is a new sim. You can now have it work as it was supposed to with items like the Bin Patch with good FPS on even the most taxing routes. The rollingstock is very impressive to say the least and the strides in physics developement is really good. Jump back in the water is warm indeed.
