Richard said in a locked thread, this:
8) The smoke doesn't work in the new style ES44 - OK, granted that's a nit.
I fixed this a long time ago but nobody has said anything about it, that's why
I didn't post a fix for it. The smoke is their, but it's coming out the bottom of
the engine. I don't know if anybody has fix this yet, but if not, I'll post an attachment
for the fix.

Yep. please do,
call it an "unofficial patch" and it will all be okay. thanks,

This is a fix for the New Style ES44 Engine Exhaust that can't be seen.
unzip it where ever you like and read the readme file.

Well, the ES44's did smoke originally. The smoke was under the fuel tank, for some reason i dont think that was the right place...
neat fix

there was an issue i was having with the dev tools that caused my own locos to have this, no matter how many times you placed the emitter in the right location it would export to the 0,0,0 of the model. as it turned out you cannot place your own assets and kuju assets in the engine file in a mixed fasion. you must place all of yours first and all of theirs last.... ok i know that is kindof off topic, but it reminded me of that. maybe something similar happened here adn nobody noticed.

When the US version was released in the stores I bought it the same day and installed
it. the one es44 had exhaust and the other didn't. I notice it when I was backing up
that the exhaust was coming from the bottom. What you're saying makes sense and
something might be wrong somewhere when exporting.
