Everyone knows that Microsoft train simulator is very old but did you know BVE is even older..Yes, way before MSTS I was playing with BVE back in 1999 /2000 and now Bve has upgraded to OPENBVE:eek: which is just like msts in all aspects.. They are still working on it and from what I read it will have AI trains just like MSTS:D..The camera view are fantastic and the flybys are just great.. The British BVE community has took this OpenBve to the far limits ..I will post some links and I would like your incite on the progress...

I can't wait for developer to make some downloads for the openBve sim to really see the features in play.
Thanks

Yes, but MSTS is still MSTS1. But that BVE is already in its 5th generation. Whereas MSTS is just barely making it into version 2. And to top it off, OpenBVE is an even more different flavor than the regular version of BVE. That's like comparing apples and oranges. They're two different things.

What makes OpenBVE better than the regular BVE is the "OPEN" ness of the source code. Which don't surprise me that it would do better than the old MSTS. MSTS to start with isn't all OPEN source as OpenBVE. There is only so much we could do with the architecture of MSTS. We've only gone as much as changing little basics like with MSTS_Bin, but most of MSTS is still hidden from the community. But with OpenBVE, you can really do wonders. Which is why OpenBVE will go a lot further than the regular BVE.

Here's OpenBVE's home page:

That link above will also take you to their discussion forum on everything OpenBVE.

Edwin,
You are so right when comparing BVE and OpenBve it like Apples and Oranges..Man the stuff I saw really amazed me..I went to the OpenBve and things are still in development ..Someone could do the whole NEC corridor if they wanted to..lol:)..Wishful thinking right. But the subway stuff was what really took me.. I really hope thing goes far..Funny there were no train-sims 10 years and now look.
