The ruling drew some interesting distinctions between recent Federal District court cases. For a full article on the ruling:

Shouldn't this topic be in the General forum? This isn't really related directly to MSTS-X. And it don't even mention MSTS2.

With patent and license aggreements and what not, I think it's great to learn not only from some of the things RSL did not so good but from the things they did pretty good. The way they went about placing locomotives and rail cars on the track was different, but it allowed adding locomotives in series with different numbers (the same with rail cars). For me, it also solved the problem I had with placing static cars at any point during the route. I never did learn that with MSTS 1. It was easy (once you get the hang of it) to populate rail yards and sidings and go run your scenario (activity) and see the things you placed, while running the route. Hopping from one train to another was interesting.

If MSTS 2 allows for the good things that RSL has come out with and avoid the disasters, it will make for a very interesting Simulator. Who knows what other things you guys have observed and hopefully will surprise the community with when it's released.

Thanks
