View Full Version : New forum for political discussion.
Since political topics are now being locked here (I hold no grudge about that decision) I've decided to start a new forum on one of my boards; http://hawks-web.com/forum/
When you first go to the link you will not see the new forum. It is hidden from the general public.
When you register you will be sent an email to verify the email address you used to register.
In that email you will be asked if you want to participate in the political, religious, etc. discussions. You will have to specify that you wish to participate to have access to that forum.
Let's give this a try and see how it goes.
Edit 1: Moderation will be, for the most part, up to the participants, but I will be handy if need be. I do ask that you watch your language though.
P.S. Thanks to whoever stickied this. :D

OK. I'm in!
Robert
Y'all don't know what you're missing.
12 members so far. 40 posts. We need some more folks over there, from both sides of the issues. ;)
Stop by and register. Coffee and doughnuts are on the house. We just need to figure out where the house is. :D

I too get the invalid email message. I have Gmail and I know that is a commonly blocked address for web forums, and I assume yours does. If this is indeed the case how should I join? We Gmailer's are not all spammers you know:).
I certainly understand not all Gmailers or Hotmailers or Yahoo mailers are spammers, but I was getting a lot of spammers from those addresses. That's why they're blocked.
Not a problem. Just use your ISP given email address to register. Once registered just change your email address. Those addresses are only blocked for registration and will work fine once registered.
If you still have a problem email me through the web site: http://hawks-web.com/contact.html
I do have another alternative.
I apologize for the inconvenience and I hope you understand. :)

Okay were good, Im regestered and awaiting approval, I'll take my coffee and doughnuts now. :)
You should have received your approval by now, but we're still looking for the house with the coffee and doughnuts. :D

Hawk thanks for the fix registered and awaiting approval and doughnuts!:)
You got it.
I think we found the doughnuts but they're at a house across town.
I sent Larry and Curly to fetch them. Moe's gone after the coffee. :D

Curly ate them all on the way back. :D
Just a heads up: I'll be going out of town tomorrow morning, Friday the 22nd of Aug. and will be gone until Sunday night.
Since registration approval is done manually by me, any new registrations during that time won't be approved quite as quick as normally.
I will have occasional access to a computer so I will be able to get to them but just have patience.
Up to 16 new members now. :)

Hey, I'll be happy to help out, if you'd like?
Robert
I appreciate the offer Robert, but getting you set up to do what I have to do to approve new registrants, adding them to the right group so they can see the new forums, setting you up as an administrator (giving you mod privileges just isn't enough :D), etc. would take a bit of editing. Then I would have to explain to you what needs to be done.
It might be easy to do and it might not be so easy. I will look into it though. I have your email address.
I'll be at my sister's house and she does have a computer but I'm going for a wedding Saturday so I won't be around the computer much that day.
Friday it will be taking care of business here, then driving up there, so again - beauceau time away from the computer.
I'll mainly have time at a computer in the mornings and evenings.

Are we allowed to talk about persimmons and eggplant there as well? Quite riveting if you don't mind me saying...
6049 Whatever floats your boat there Richie. :D
