My machine just recovered from a bad virus and, in the process, I find I can no longer access you tube. I use firefox and I would appreciated it if some one can tell me how to turn java back on. Maia

You might have to re-download the java plugins for Firefox or download it at;

Kevin, thank you... I just figured that out myself when I blundered on to it. Your help is appreciated!

Thanks Kevarc for the tip. It's been a while since I had to do it and almost forgot how to do it. CRS moments. :D

The AVG toolbar is not compatible with FF 3.01. I never loaded with earlier version, I hate the clutter and if it working right in the first place, why do you need it?

What toolbar? I was suggesting the anti-virus. I don't use any toolbars, they're a waste of virtual space...

Maia - you might also be interested in a small free utility called Save2PC. With it you can download the YouTube video and watch it on your computer instead of allowing scripts to run. Although allowing scripts to run on YouTube generally isn't harmful it can be disastrous at other sites.
It also works for Google Videos and a few others.

You might be interested in this (http://noscript.net/) too. I've been using it for a number of years. It works great.

Noscript is highly recommended, I have been using it for ages.
While 'NoScript' is great, and I've been using for a long time as well, it would require Save2PC to view YouTube videos, or allowing scripts to run at YouTube.
No big deal, just an expanded explanation. ;)
I admit this is a geeky nit-pick, but Java and JavaScript are NOT the same thing.
