A simple yes or no would have worked, but thanks for the attitude.

No need to do that, if this is how this site treats people who ask a question, but dont have time to read every single post that was made before they got there, then i want no part of it.

Sorry to say this, But just a simple yes or no would have done. I agree that people should read up a little when it comes to infomation, But there was no need for that kind of comment to say the least.

Like Burger King, "have it your way"
But those are the rules
Then report it and let the mods deal with it.

Kevin, I agree with you on that one.:)
Mods, can we lock this thread to control the bashing on here?

The truth be known, the "search police" do more harm than good because they drive people off these forums. And maybe the next budding train-sim enthusiast driven off might be the one who eventually creates the Big Boy or the Challenger or some nice new route or object for the sim. A certain few are always perched on a fence ready to jump down to save us and spank errant schoolboys because the assumption is they didn't search. Some searches are obscure. The question of turntables was an easy search, but so what, giving the answer again doesn't hurt.
It is so much better to just say, succinctly, "yes", or "no", or give a one sentence answer if you know it. Why? It expands the knowledge base, because if an answer is confined to one obscure post that eventually falls off the forum because of its age, then it is lost forever. Spread the real wealth around (the knowledge), it is easier to find answers that way when you do search. If you really want to cut the wheat from the chaff, cut some of the drivel that is posted here, because THAT is what confuses the searching and adds to the forum bandwidth.
About bashing (not that there's much in this thread - yet). I have seen quite a few threads closed lately over in the KRS forum because of bashing. Too bad, too, because they were useful threads that imparted some really good information and were just getting started. Unfortunately then, the original poster usually just gives up and moves on. Too bad too. The hobby of train-simming suffers because of it.
My two cents.

One other thing to remember especially in this forum, MSTS2 designers and crew check the MSTSX forum and openly post here. How are we to instill respect from them for our suggestions and discussions on railroading when we don't respect each other and lash out for every little thing posted. This does not give our hobby's fanbase a very good reputation. We need to clean our act up and soon or they may not even bother coming here.

I agree...We are lucky to have the guys from MSTS-X coming in here and speaking and answering the questions that people have for this sim. Ive seen programmers for other sims/games dont do what the guys over at microsoft/aces has done with this sim and I appreciate that from them.

How about this for a suggestion - by the way well said above!!
If people don't have anything good to say, don't say it. Some searches are very easy and pose no issue. But a search for "turntable" may also show alot of results.
I tend to ignore alot of these repeat questions because the more people that reply to these makes more threads to go through, more messages, and more words (by a guy who likes to post long messages like me). No wonder why people get frustrated!
Anyways enough of this, I tend to ignore this crap as well but for some reason decided to add to the mess. Now back to the fun side of this board.
Thanks
Sean

I agree - if you are going to reply, give an answer, otherwise don't say anything. My latest answer, to a new thread asking 'will i be able to use original msts stuff in msts-x?' was one word 'NO'!

We are planning on doing turntables and transfer tables. It shoudl also be possible for 3rd parties to do other things such as draw bridges, and swing bridges.
As far as people asking the same questions over and over, perhaps someone should create a single sticky FAQ thread that can be linked to anyone who asks a question that has already been answered. I would do it but I am afraid when it comes nearer to release date I won't have enough time to keep it up to date.

I'm seeing alot of potential for 3rd party which as a progammer makes me very happy :) Bottom line is if you guys got things going great with the end product with enough open ended tie ins for 3rd party I think everyone will be quite happy.
Keep up the good work
Thanks
Sean
