DirectX diagnostics and crashing

Hello, I'm running a laptop with Win XP, 2gb ram, 1.86 CPU and 64mb nividia gpu. When I run the Train Simulator Editors & Tools or the game itself, after a short while the DirectX diagnostics Tools screen will come up and msts will minimise to the toolbar. when i close out of the directx screen msts will crash to the error reporting dialog box. I did a search of the forums and came up with 2 other posts reporting the same problem but unfortunately no solutions posted. msts had been running fine for along time until this. The only changes to msts recently is i started trying to use the editor for the first time and i installed the seligman sub route. Any suggestions?

Hi Tom. Ron's first rule is that if something messes up MSTS remove it and see if it works without it. So I would remove the Seligman Sub to a safe place,then try the Editor& Tools again,if it still wont load you could try the Register fix from here.

One other thing is to set your desktop display resolution to 16 Bits color instead 32 Bits for your MSTS Tools & Editors.
