Since the new rules, certain folks have used a method for getting around and continuing to push their view on the forums by using code word - "can'ts." WTF is the difference and why are they allowed to so without getting rapped on the head? I would prefer to do it with a baseball bat or a sledge hammer to drive the point home, just like you would do with a mule.

Actually I was kinda hoping for people to catch on to using the old school terms like Whigs and Tories ...it would almost make it sound like discussions from the House of Commons in the 19th century.

Kevin,

Apparently the old habits of contentiousness die hard among some people.

Well since you were one of the ring leader(s) in pushing the alert button on every post you didn't agree with and would agitate some of the RWs Maia old gal - I find it amazing you would comment :)

I believe the term I am looking for here is irony, eh?

P.S. good thing we are friends and can discuss things rationally..

I actually was wondering too Kevin - after my rant I found other outlets and got over it...

But I am watching for folks from the LWs trying to sneak comments in also..

I still think it was pulled because the side that Nels and the Mods lean to was on the losing end of most of it....

Chuck, I really do not think that is the truth. I know Ken and Dale and that is not the reason why things are getting stomped on. It just is getting out of control by certain parties, both sides of the issues, and it is getting old. Screaming and shouting at one another is worthless. You are not going to get anyone to change their mind. I go to many other boards for other interests of mine and any of this type of treads or sideways comment are not tolerated at ALL. You start it up and you sit on the sidelines for a week to contemplate your sins. And their open sections thrive.

I think this forum improved by several orders of magitude when I inserted just 4 names into my "Ignore Posts by" list... 2 from each side. IMO had the mods turd-canned those 4 there wouldn't have been any need for new rules. At any rate, today, no problems!

FWIW, I did not complain to the mods. I fixed my own concerns w/ my own "Ignore Posts by" list. You can too.

Not locked, sent over the event horizon when the name calling starts, then to protect liberal democrats from criticisms.

"From this point forth any Thread that is about Politics is locked. We are and so are others from the PM's we get tired of it.If you want to talk Politics go to a Blog or Forum that pertains to it."

Mods, time to send all the remaining post even remotely related to politics, including the locked ones, into the black hole of censorship.

You're probably right Kevin...

I personally enjoy debate - however this got too intense - and if I want that I can go to work :)

P.S. I inserted the comment about Nels and the Mods just to get a rise out of them... Nels knows me for years and I doubt he takes anything I say like that seriously..

Can't even respond to a simple post without slipping into name calling or trying to get a slap in, can you Ron?

Ron let it go! Go over to Hawks and have fun in the free fire zone....

It's gone over here and probably not coming back - set your mode switch to trains when you are here and politics when you are at Hawk's

Got other things to do for now. However, if one wants this thread to vanish, here is a web site of products one can get to express their view;

How is it, can us non-USAns still discuss non-USAn policies here?
