Say, how much of the old Beach-and-Road course from the early '50s is left out on the Beach? Might be interesting to get Kaz Yamauchi a call for the next GT game.
These were scanned from slides and prints, so lost a bit in the translation, but...

Thanks for the comments!
Great shots Kevin! I'd like to get over there sometime.
I'm not sure how much of the original racetrack is still there (on the beach) but the road they they allow you to drive on is so compacted its like concrete.

Are shots 1-3 all from right around Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park? I've got almost the same shot as your 2nd one looking over to Sand Beach from a recent trip up there except it's all fogged in.

Heh, the irony is that the last picture was taken in the US of A :)

Not a very good shot, but if you look close, you'll see FOUR rainbows. There were actually six visible to the naked eye. Shot was taken in Brisbane, Australia.

Hi Pat,
Yes, you're right, they were at Acadia. The 4th image is at Port Clyde, more toward the Rockland area.
Here's a shot of Thunder Hole in a Nor'easter (notice the spectator in yellow raincoat)...
Completely shifting gears now, a couple pics from out west...

Nice shot! Have always wanted to be there in a big storm.
I might actually have a picture of Port Clyde. Went down towards Camden/Rockland last time we went up there.
Yeah, it was alot of (unplanned) fun. We showed up at Acadia the same day as the storm. Fifty-knot winds and 20-ft seas. The Bluenose (since replaced by The Cat) cancelled its trip from Nova Scotia. So we put on our rain gear and walked the Ocean Path. It was incredible!
My favorite times to walk the shore are when there's a storm or it's foggy. Besides being less crowded, there's a whole different "mood" to it.
