Is there a way to download Adobe Reader but not install it? I want to use Reader on a computer that isn't connected to the internet. When I try to download Reader using another computer, it asks permission to install. When I say no to install, it kickes out.

I just want to download Adobe Reader to the first computer's jump drive, and then install it from the jump drive to the second computer.

I have several software CDs that have older versions of Reader included with them. Since this computer can't do updates, I would prefer to download the most recent version of Reader.

You know, I could have SWORN that I answered this! Am I losing my mind?

Anyway, here's a download spot for you:

Or you could use Internet Connection Sharing, to connect your other computer to the internet.

It's built into every version of Windows since 98.

Does it HAVE to be the most recent version? If not, just take the MSTS CD1 and install Acrobat Reader from there (it is an ancient 4.something version tho)!

Robert,

Thanks for the link. I now have v9.0 running on a stand-alone computer.

A much better pdf reader is FoxIt. No where near the bloat of Adobe, and you can copy from a pdf using it.
