Re-installed the MARK-2 ALPS and it did not show in the RS Routes menu list.

So I had a look into the Routes.xml and realized that the included in the Denmark-2000 download Package Manager.exe (13.Aug.08) installed this into it:

http://forums.flightsim.com/vbts/attachment.php?attachmentid=6255&stc=1&d=1220029720

making other additions after it invisible ! Sound like a repeat of the ALPS Routes.xml problem ?

It is missing the </cRouteProperties> line !

http://forums.flightsim.com/vbts/attachment.php?attachmentid=6256&stc=1&d=1220029720

Manually inserted it and had no more problems.

Also noticed that I do not have a Package Manager.exe - 13.Aug.08 on my computer, the one I got being a PackageManager.exe - 6.Oct.07 !

I am sorry for all RS users who are struggling making some add-ons work, not knowing how to sort them out and after having been given advice still not getting anywhere.

This simply is not got enough and from what I remember after the release of MSTS back in 2001 we did not have to put up with then !

I can care less what people have said about the packager dated 13 Aug 08

There is something wrong with it

I cannot get it to work

I try to install a rpk and in bold red leters
it tells me there is a problem with the route xml
and reinstal rail sim.

the old on works fine

When I installed Denmark 2000 I used the included Package Manager and...nothing happened. After about 30-40 seconds got out of it and used the old original Package Manager and it installed the route perfectly.

I don't know whether to blame the 13 Aug 08 Packager Manager or the upgrade MK2. I can't say I am impressed with the MK2 upgrade, I don't see (for my use) any improvement in the operation of RS.

Hi Arthur !

Could you check your Routes.xml for this </cRouteProperties> line at the end of the Denmark 2000 paragraph.

If it is missing then you will not see any other route add-ons which have been installed after the Denmark 2000 !

What a star - have had a look and as you say this line of code was missing which explains why a subsequent route was missing.

I have never fiddled about with XML before so your guidance much appreciated. Glad you got the Denmark route.

I also could not use the packager with the route but when using the original one the route installed fine. It is obvious that many route designers are having some issues with things like packaging and correct scripting of the Route.xml file

Hi, my xml has that line, which it is supposed to have. I did not use the included Package Manager.exe - 13.Aug.08 with Denmark2000, because it didn't seem to want to run. I installed with the old Package Manager-6.Oct.07 and all seems fine.
