Mike Simpson is thinking about creating a utility which can automate the changing of tracks in RS routes, I started doing with my rs-tracks-changer.zip which gives the Hagen-Siegen and B-SB clean concrete ties with brighter running surfaces rails ! ;)

Having also done it by manually changing references to tracks in route's Tracks.bin files, such a utility could provide more enjoyment for users who would like to vary the type of tracks their routes use, like my TRACKS-CHANGER does in MSTS.

Created two small test routes for him to experiment with, the first using the HAGEN-SIEGEN main line trackrule with my rails and the second one being a copy of it replacing it's tracks with those from Manuel and again using my rails with brighter running surfaces:

Comparing the two, Manuel's trackbeds could be wider and like I said before need to be raised a bit to show their excellent scattered edges ! ;)

Manuel's tracks being 3D, I have been told, just replacing textures with others like my RS-TRACKS-CHANGER does is not possible and him having created a special Assets\Camber folder for them makes referring to them in Tracks.bin files more difficult.

But Mike being an old U.K.-H.M. Code Breaker will rise to the challenge and look forward to the first Beta. ;)
As it is his birthday today I would like to say once more HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE and would remind all that there is a "Donation" option on his web site to buy him a few drinks and Charlie some juicy bones ! :D

CHEERS and take care !

Well, Mike didn't waste much time ! :D

Here is his first tracks changing exercise and am going to test his modified TS_Tools_TMB to see how he did it ! ;)

Can't see any dark shaded tracks in his screenshot and will be interesting to find out why not.
