I have been trying to install some new rolling stock but I am having trouble with the blueprint.pak's that keep reappearing after each time I load the program. I use the KRS pak Delete tool but as soon as the program loads they reappear preventing the left-hand fly-out window (assests icons) from showing the engine icon and in the right-hand fly-out window the RS and RS US are grayed out.

I have added stock before with no problems but somehow something has gone haywire. I've tried running the program in a smaller window and then in another window deleting all the blueprint.pak's that appear, still it will not show the asset icon for rolling stock. There are 4 places the pak's show up; Assests\Developer\Added, Kuju\RS, Kuju\RS Core, and Kuju\RS US.

Perplexed with it all.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After more checking I think I've found the problem. It may have been a conflicting problem with my anti-virus program. After shutting it down all seems to work and load fine.

Hiya,

For more information on the purpose of the Blueprints.PAK files within Rail Simulator please see here: Blueprints.PAK files explained (http://www.railsimulator.com/en/node/3393)

It is concerning how hell bent on removing these files some users have become, and I think end users need to be much more aware of the files they are dealing with, before deleting anything in the hope that it will solve a problem they are having.

This is what you are saying in your post you have linked to:

There is no harm in removing these files, as if they are not present when Rail Simulator starts, they will be recreated.

I and many other RS users understand what the purpose of Blueprints.pak files is and deleting all of them after having made changes to RS folders and files will make sure that RS creates them all again the next time it loads, recording the latest state of whatever assets are needed to be listed in "Blueprints.pak" files.

Installers like Mike Simpson's RouteSetup.exe & AssetSetup.exe do it by default and so does the RSPackager. Just check to see whether a WIN Search for them will find any in a Rail Simulator folder after an install ! ;)
