Geeze louise, they're dropping like flies.

He wrote and sang one of my favorite songs, "The Legend". It was the opening song of the movie "Smokey and the Bandit".

There's the legend of Jesse James,
and John Henry just to mention some names.
But there's a truck drivin' legend in the South today.
A man called "Bandit" from Atlanta G - A.

Every gear jammer knows his name.
They swear he's got ice water runnin' in his veins.
A foot like lead, and nerves like steel.
He's gonna go to glory ridin' eighteen wheels.

Funny thing is, the Bandit never actually drove any of the eighteen wheelers...

He drives the truck to Snowman's house before getting the Pontiac. That's the whole opening sequence of the first movie.

Please don't forget his 1979 movie "Hot Stuff" with Dom DeLuise and Suzanne Pleshette. We transferred it from tape to DVD and still sit down and enjoy it every so often. A talented individual - one to be missed. - Mike
