Surprised this hasn't come up yet, what does everyone here like music wise?
Personally classic rock is my thing.

Country music is my thing, mixed with some classic rock with a pinch of rap and not the new rap, old 90s rap.

I mostly listen Classic Rock (Boston, Eagles, Zeppelin, Rush, Styx, Van Halen, Bob Segar, Bruce Springsteen, Journey, etc,) Blues (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Clapton, BB King,) some 90's rock such as Blues Traveler, and some Metal (Metallica, Dream Theater, even Dragonforce.) Music with strange time signatures, complex chords structures, and modal melodies seems to fascinates me, so naturally I have a real liking for progressive bands such as Rush, Dream Theater, Yes, and Kansas (Rush being my favorite band.)
Overall however, my favorite style of music is classic rock.

Just about everything but the Nashville sound (I'm a fan of real country, you know, before they introduced the adult contemporary slant and called it 'Nashville') and just about every modern rock act. Learn to use mid range frequencies, write about something besides your favourite two dollar hooker, and stop being so emo. And learn to tune in standard tuning, drop C is for wimps!
I have heavy preferences to my roots in early 90s rock (you know, Soundgarden, early Foo Fighters, Faith no More, the stuff we used to call 'alternative'), turn of the 80s punk rock (Bags, Germs, Weirdos, X, Ramones), and heavy metal (Racer X, Megadeth, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest).
I have been on a Steve Albini binge and was listening to Shellac last night.
(FYI the music in this house is driving me crazy of late as I'm a punk rocker stuck with a group of emo kids)

Run. Save yourself!!! :o
This topic came up a good while ago I believe.
I like classical music, classic rock, oldies (50s) rock, some of the new stuff (Matchbox 20 etc), Jazz, Big Band, R&B, and Soul (Motown).
About the only forms of music I can't stand are rap and teen pop (Hanna Montana...gag me with a spoon).
