This new PC game, 5 years in the making, is getting a lot of advertising hype and program specials on the cable networks. Spore is a game where you guide creation in a universe from the first single cell creature to galactic domination. Combined with on line interaction, the possibilities are going to be endless.

A demo Creature Creation program is available for hassle free download. High speed connection required.

Warning! There is religious conflicts that's sure to be raised over playing this game since it is based on the theory of intelligent design. Go over to Hawk's Forum if you wish to discuss this in details. Failure to do so will result in a locked, deleted thread.

3. General Bashing of Users : Ever heard the saying "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all"? I'm sure you have, but why few can apply such information is unknown to me. I'd like to see all the name calling, political or not, stop. If someone comes to T-S and looks in the yard, only to see a bunch of pissing fights amongst senior members, they more than likely turn around and never come back thinking this site is full of a bunch of egotistical members who have nothing better to do than bash everyone else.

The game is quite different from the normal venue of mindless violence or strategist. However, it does step into the controversy over religious and scientific theory. Go to this web site if you want to see the pros and cons that Spores will certainly create. They cannot be discussed here any more thanks to the flamers and bashers.

Is anyone here able to verify or deny reports that this particular game title requires online activation and requires a connection to the publisher's servers every time you want to run it? Do you think the publisher's problems with piracy makes such a level of DRM justifiable to the customer?

:mad: Yes, at least the Demo requires online activation every time you want to open it. For that reason I dumpded the Demo and did not order the game. On-line activation is not somethong I need or want at this time. And no - I don't think that treating everyone like a crook helps the piracy issue. - Mike :mad:

If you don't like it, modify your settings so my and other similar posters don't show up on this forum in your browser.

Doesn't surprise me none considering that it was so easy to download. Doesn't make any sense as other game demos have never required on line activation.

I would carefully read any instructions on the package before considering purchasing this game. I have also heard the rumors about having to be connected and registered for certification and that the DVD will prevent you from installing after three times. I'm sure that EA received a lot of flack over such a policy.

:mad:Read the package instructions;

1. It won't work on my graphic chipset.
2. Requires on line registration during install with a passcode provided in the game that works only once.
3. Requires on line connection to verify before running.

I put it back on the shelf so it could keep company with the other 20 copies.
