Hi all!

Y have some questions to ask you:

Why the ATSF had so many paints schemes in their locomotives? War, blue and yellow bonnet...each one represents something special or there are variations to prevent that all the locomotives to be similar to each others?

Sorry if my english sometimes it's not legible :o

Cheers, Juan.

Juan, The Warbonnet scheme was for passenger service. Blue and yellow were used for freight power, and in several schemes, including the Bluebonnet. The Yellowbonnet was, I believe, experimental, and never widely applied. AA

I hate to see the warbonnet scheme go away completey but BNSF doesn't care about it.

The blue and yellowbonnest schemes were the result of not painting the red back on locomotives formerly in the warbonnet livery. I think it was a cost saving measure.
