My next tank project will be this Mark V (Male). A WWI British heavy tank in the Soviet 2nd tank unit.

That should be interesting. Are you going to do female tanks?

If I can locate good textures.

As you can see the camo pattern is a bit different for all four sides.

British male and female tanks were defined by the armament each type carried. The male carried a six pounder gun in each side sponson with machine guns for defense. The female was entirely armed with machine guns.

Well, the two inside textures make more sense now that I put them upside right instead of upside down!

That looks very nice, as does the male tank.

I always wondered if one of those flipped over if it could keep going... My kid has a toy car like that.

If one of these flipped onto its back it was going no further. The roof would not have given enough ground clearance, and the engine was not designed to run upside down.

Used to be able to climb around inside one at the Patton Museum at Ft Knox, but they covered the doorway with clear plastic now.
The unmufflered engine was in the same big room as the crew.

Yes, I have a set of pictures of that very tank.
Would anyone have the correct flatcar for my Mark V? I would like to get the .dst and texture files so I could add it directly. I think the poly count will be low enough.

What would the correct flatcar look like?

Looking good so far, but I think the drivers cabin is just a bit too tall.

Other then the machine gun ball and gun, the right gun station is complete.

I've now created the four Hotchkiss machine gun rotation units, and the Hotchkiss machine gun. One picture shows two of the guns in place. The static tank would have all machine guns in place and the flatcar load would have no machine guns.

The first part of the exhaust system is in place. Considering this tank is new on a flatcar the pipes would not be rusty yet.
Larry_M

Well, I had the wrong brackets on that exhaust section. These are correct.

OK, the flatcar version is complete. Still don't have a flatcar, but it's time to move on and modify the textures for the static version.

Did a texture change for the static version. Changed the exhaust to rusty and added the four Hotchkiss machine guns. I still need to darken up the textures and add some dirt.

Ok, I finished the third version, the static with mud. Time to move on to a different project.
