Hi All,
Just had an e-mail from a fellow saying he hasn't been able to unzip two of my latest files, specifically plant41.zip and lbcrane.zip. Last I say there were about a hundred of each of these out there, is anyone else having problems with them? I'm using the same WinZip 8.1 that I've been using for a few years, first time I've had anyone report a problem with a file.

I am using Winzip 11 and I get an error on both files.
Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive.
If I use Winrar to rebuild the archive it works. This applies to all files dated this month so far. Files dated prior to 10-01-2008 all seem to be OK.
Therefore I conclude that it is not your files at fault because everyone elses files act the same way. It has to be something to do with the new server, or the method used to check files before they are released to the server.

Hi Mervyn,
That's interesting. I was able to download one of the files Ted was having problems with and open it using my old WinZip v8.1, the same WinZip Ted wasn't able to open the file with. I'm going to send this to Nels and see if he can check into it.

Mervyn,
I am having the same problem with files dated in October. WinZip 9.0 SR-1: Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive. WinRAR 3.62: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged. Rebuilding the archive in WinRAR does work. Also, I can open the file using the native Windows XP file compression utility.
