Not so easy.
The problem is that a flag (or lamp) made as a wagon will stay centred to the rails while the car it is attached to will swing out on curves.
This will give the effect of the flag sliding along the end of the car.
You could make it as a freight animation but freight animations cannot be animated so the flag will not flutter. Many open wagons will already have FA loads and you cannot have two.
I experimented with tail lamps as a seperate wagon with my British wagons and could not find a way to avoid the sliding effect even with short 4 wheelers.

A bit hasty.
You only waited a few hours.
I'm sure most people will not have read your post.
I said I did not think it could be done. Someone may have other ideas and prove me wrong.
I hope they do.

While the flag may not be animated, I don't see why not on having one made..
off to the shops. ;)

I sometimes see a short train go through with only a flag at the rear. Most of the time it's one engine and about 15-20 empty boxcars.

An option would be perhaps to make the FLAG the car, and add the CAR in as a Freight Animation perhaps?

Why not just make the flag as a wagon and go from there?

Hmmmm, yes it could be animated !!! If you think of the fans on some locos that are animated, if you take the shape make it a square poly with a transparent circular base, and only add in a few animated points left to right and set to parent the rear bogie it should work. I am sure Shawn could work that out. If not let me know Shawn I will test the theory out. I am not sure you could make it a freight anim part, but could work on the actual model built.

As for making the flag a freight animation part, the reason as I set it as a wagon file, is due to some cars already have freight animated loads, so therefor it wouldn't be used correctly for certain cars.
The animated points, not sure how to set that up, but will give it a try, if not I'll let you know. :)

This will be a great addition to the community. Can't wait 'til this one is ready for release. Thanks to all involved.

Yeah, but if I may say so, the separate wagon idea is better, as if you add it as an animation to your model, you're either gonna have to totally re-do the car, or add it in as a Freight Anim. Which some of us don't know how to do, the EOT device in the library was genius, added as an extra wagon so you can put it on anything ya want, and leave it OFF anything ya want. Just in my opinion, the flag as a separate wagon would serve better.

There is already one on the F3 that comes with the GMOSS Route, Except it's green.

A green flag doesn't represent a 'EOT' Normally 'EOT' Flags are red. Green I do not remember what they where used for.
Did I you it was animated?
huh?
If your asking if I animated it yet, No I haven't I have been busy with my job I currently hold.

I think if you look closely on the freeware 3Dtrains F7s I think that the flags on some of them are animated.
