  1. CFS2 Spruce Goose

CFS2 Spruce Goose. The largest wooden airplane ever constructed, and flown only one time, the Spruce Goose represents one of humanity's greatest attempts to conquer the skies. It was born out of a need to move troops and material across the Atlantic Ocean, where in 1942, German submarines were sinking hundreds of Allied ships. Henry Kaiser, steel magnate and shipbuilder, conceived the idea of a massive flying transport and turned to Howard Hughes to design and build it. Hughes took on the task, made even more challenging by the government’s restrictions on materials critical to the war effort, such as steel and aluminum. Six times larger than any aircraft of its time, the Spruce Goose, also known as the Hughes Flying Boat, is made entirely of wood. A long time ago, I did a CFS2 conversion for an earlier Spruce Goose model by Dennis Simanaitis released in 2004. Unhappily, the converted plane goes too low at water and I never uploaded it, but it flies well. I stored it hoping someone could build a better plane. When Erwin Welker released his new work, I simply made a last revision at the airfile and prepare a good DP, based on the BV238, to get a tested product. By Peperez.

  2. CFS2 Lucariny Supermarine 224

CFS2 Lucariny Supermarine 224. The Supermarine Type 224 was an inverted gull-wing monoplane fighter aircraft designed by R.J. Mitchell at Supermarine in response to Air Ministry Specification F.7/30, which sought a fighter for introduction to succeed the Gloster Gauntlet. It was powered by the Rolls-Royce Goshawk engine, which used an experimental evaporative cooling system, and problems with this system, combined with its disappointing performance, led to it being rejected, a contract for production aircraft eventually going to the Gloster Gladiator. It is nevertheless notable because R.J. Mitchell learnt lessons from its failure that were to contribute greatly to his success with the Supermarine Spitfire. By Peperez.

  3. CFS2 Allen Me334 V2

CFS2 Allen Me334 V2. Two planes, a jet and a DB605 version. Allen used a Bf-109G flight model to his original plane. I decided to do a more realistic Airfile aid Air.cfg respecting the tailless approach used by Lippisch. Yes! You have no horizontal stabilizer to deal. The plane is nice to fly since you use small movements in your joystick. You always have a fast reaction to your commands, so, I advise you to fly it a lot before going to combat. 4. CFS2 Erwin Welker BV238C

CFS2 Erwin Welker BV238C. This huge aircraft made its first flight in April 1944 and was rather a flying ship than a boat, bigger than the BV-222, and was the heaviest aircraft of WWII. The Spruce Goose with eight engines was even much bigger but she was buildt at the end of the war and never did a real flight except a test taxiing with a short moment of being airborne. Only one BV-238 performed successful flights, the two other prototypes were never completed. The FS-model shows the heavy armed planned long range bomber version, which was never completed. It comes with two paint schemes: winter and green. The BV238 is a gentle giant. She takes off smoothly, even with full load. Cutting the engines, you enter a gentle descent with a pitch down nose attitude. Just push your joystick up and she lands quietly at the right angle. You can program the autopilot using an historical German flight director (you can only mark your direction, no altitude control). Special thanks to Erwin Welker and Maverickcfs2. 5. CFS2 JRL_EW_FW-VII_Flitzer

CFS2 JRL_EW_FW-VII_Flitzer. The .air file aind Air.cfg are completely new and a lot more realistic (we learn a lot in 15 years). I'm using the revised Erwin Welker VC model made for FS2004 as a basis. I also picked up his panel bitmap. I kept the original JR Lucariny texture, but I added two more aircraft by Rodolfo Valery. As I suspect non-CFS2 stuff are causing CTD, I'm using only standard or very tested gauges like those made by Ground Crew. Weapons are Luft'46, designed by Laszlo Becz. By Pedro Paulo Rezende.

  6. CFS2 WD_D551_V3 Update

CFS2 WD_D551_V3 Update. The package includes eight planes, one real, the prototype, and seven inspired by real Dewoitine D.520 aircraft. The .air file, aircraft.cfg and panel were revised. Dive and landing performance were enhanced. The Dewoitine D.551 was to be a marvellous machine able to get 662 KPH with a 1050 HP Hispano Suiza 12Y51 engine. Three prototypes were built and were destroyed under German supervision. Williams Dickens know my admiration for the plane and built this model as a surprise to me. I used Jean Cuny's book L'avions Dewoitine to built the airfiles according the real object. In the real world, Replic Air, a French society, is trying to built a fourth aircraft following the original plans. By Pedro Paulo Rezende.

  16. CFS2 Air America Twin Beech

CFS2 Air America Twin Beech. Beech 18s were used extensively by Air America during the Vietnam War; initially more-or-less standard ex-military C-45 examples were used, but then the airline had 12 aircraft modified by Conrad Conversions in 1963 and 1964 to increase performance and load-carrying capacity. The modified aircraft were known as Conrad Ten-Twos, as the maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) was increased to 10,200 lb (4,600 kg). The increase was achieved by several airframe modifications, including increased horizontal stabilizer angle-of-incidence, redesigned undercarriage doors, and aerodynamically improved wingtips. 25. CFS2 Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien

CFS2 Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien. The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien ("flying swallow") is a Japanese World War II fighter aircraft used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service. The Japanese Army designation was "Army Type 3 Fighter". Allied pilots initially believed Ki-61s were Messerschmidt Bf 109s and later an Italian aircraft, which led to the Allied reporting name of "Tony", assigned by the United States War Department. It was the only mass-produced Japanese fighter of the war to use a liquid-cooled inline V engine. Over 3,000 Ki-61s were produced. Initial prototypes saw action over Yokohama during the Doolittle Raid on 18 April 1942, and continued to fly combat missions throughout the war. By Peter Mercy.
