About This File

FS2004 Sabena Douglas DC-6 1960. The first European operator of the Douglas DC6 was the Belgian airline Sabena. The first of five DC-6s, which was registered OO-AWA, was delivered on 15 July 1947. It was introduced on the Brussels-New York service in August 1947. Of course they also operated on the Brussels-Leopoldville (now Kinshasa) route, the "lifeline" to the former Belgian colony Congo. From 1953 on they were joined by nine slightly larger DC-6Bs and one DC-6A. Except for OO-AWB which crashed in 1955, the "short" DC-6 had a remarkably long career with Sabena, including being leased to Air Congo. The last example was sold in 1965. These are textures only. You will require the Jens B. Kristensen Douglas DC-6 model (DC6_V20.ZIP). Repaints by Maarten Brouwer.
