About This File

FSX Scenery--Islamabad International Airport. A remake of the basic FSX scenery of Islamabad Airport (ISB/OPRN) in Pakistan. Highly detailed airport with altered landclass, roads and buildings immediately surrounding it. Chaklala International Airport (more recently named after the late Benazir Bhutto) is a cramped and overcrowded airport, shared with the Pakistan Air Force and with no room to expand. The main runway is 11,000 feet, served by just three entry points requiring aircraft to backtrack the runway. There are five stands for 747 sized aircraft in this scenery, and six for 737s etc. Static fighter aircraft are positioned around the airfield dispersals and military apron. Many (stock) buildings and hangars included to make it slightly more realistic. Runway 09/27 is now disused but is still marked, and a start point is included for runway 27 (6000 feet x 90 feet). AI aircraft turn for takeoff at the displaced threshold turning circles instead of full length, decreasing runway occupancy times a little. By Junior Moult.
