FSX P-51D Mustang G-ARKD. A repaint for the payware Warbirdsim North American Aviation P-51 D Little Friends package. G-ARKD c/n 1330 was a Commonwealth CA-17 Mustang Mk 20 ex-RAAF A68-5. Owned by sports car racing driver Ron Flockhart, it was intended to break the Sydney - London record. He left Sydney on 28 February 1961. The attempt was abandoned at Athens as the engine overheated and blew a head gasket whilst awaiting a delayed clearance from Athens ATC. He was three days ahead of the record at that point and thus the attempt was terminated by Greek red tape. This repaint was created using the P51 paint kit supplied by Warbirdsim's John Terrell.
