About This File

FS98 Braddick's Turbo Dakota. Turboprop conversion for the South African Air Force by Braddick Specialised Air Services International PTY, Pretoria, of the 1935 DST Douglas Sleeper Transport (DC-3) model for American Airlines, increasing speed, range, payload and fuel efficiency. Braddick's have converted more than fifty DC-3/C-47s, and the unit in the present release is powered by two 1424 shp PT6A-65AR turboprops, with a normal operating speed of 200 KTAS and a range of 1283 nm. The virtual model is a conversion of the DC-3 FS98 upgrade from Freeflight Design Shop by M. Ritzema and A. Schmidt on an original DC-3 by John Kelly. Simple high-visibility modified Lear45 panel for default FS98 gauges included. Turboprop sounds by Graham Waterfield included. Texture is based on a texture package of an original DC-3 model from John Kelly and Jan Visser, adapted and highly modified by Udo Entenmann to display a C-47TP Dakota (a so-called "Turbo-Dak") of the SAAF (South African Air Force). By Stephan Scholz.
