About This File
FS2004 Cessna 172 Turbo Diesel. Cessna's plans to build a Skyhawk that would run on jet fuel never came to fruition after the engine manufacturer filed for insolvency. Simulator company Redbird Simulations will instead use the same engine and reconditioned 172 airframes to produce a similar model to be called the Redbird Redhawk. This modification of the standard Skyhawk reflects what would have been, had the plans succeeded. The airplane burns jet fuel, and has full-authority FADEC engine controls with auto-mixture.
