About This File
X-Plane 9.70 Tornado ADV Prototype F-2. This model of the first prototype Panavia Tornado F2 was developed from the v8.5 Tornado ADV, which was originally developed from Paolo Matricardi's v6.06 Tornado strike model. The real aircraft was rolled out of the Warton factory on 9 Aug. 1979 and made its first flight on 27 Oct. It was flown to Mach 1.25 on its first flight, M 1.6 on the second flight, M 1.75 on the third flight and flew five times for a total of 8.5 hours that first week. That's rapid development. They don't do things that fast anymore. By David Austin.
