X-Plane Gustav Whitehead Aircraft, 14 August 1901, 2.0. First to fly in America. There is now sufficient documentation, that Jane's Aircraft of the world, Mar 2013 now credits Gustav Whitehead with the distinction of being the first person to have completed a powered flight!
