About This File

X-Plane 9.70+ Vultee XP-54 Swoose Goose. The Vultee XP54 Swoose Goose was a prototype fighter built by the Vultee Aircraft Company for the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). Powered by a Lycoming XH-2470-1 with 2300 hp, and being a large and heavy airplane, the performance was pedestrian when compared with its operational counterparts. The large nose section gave rise to its whimsical nickname, the Swoose Goose, inspired by a song about Alexander who was half swan and half goose: "Alexander was a swoose." The 'fictional' production variant of this aircraft can be found here: P-54A.ZIP. By Vasco Ribeiro.
