About This File

X-Plane 9.70+ Lockheed Model 8 Sirius 1.1. The Lockheed 8 Sirius was a single engined monoplane built by Jack Northrop and Gerald Vultee for Lockheed in 1929. It was a low wing adaptation of the Vega, and went on to give birth to a whole line of single engine airliners that were an enormous improvement over the previous types and made a huge impression worldwide. It comes with one livery, depicting the Texaco 16, a Sirius owned by Texaco during the 1930s. The added drag of all the bits'n pieces like spats, etc. combined with the less powerful engine makes her slower than the Altair (LOCKHEED_ALTAIR.ZIP) and Orion (LOCKHEED_L-9B_ORION.ZIP), but she's still an enjoyable ride. By Thibaud Duhamel.
