X-Plane 10 Scenery Scenery--EGOW RAF Woodvale, UK, v2. Welcome to this rendition of RAF Woodvale. Opened in December 1941 as an all weather night fighter base to defend the city of Liverpool, RAF Woodvale is situated 4 miles from the village of Formby, south of Southport and north of Liverpool. Since 1971, Woodvale has been a training station for the air squadrons of Liverpool, Manchester and Salford Universities (amongst others). Also modelled is the adjacent caravan park.
