X-Plane 9.70+ Republic P-47M Thunderbolt 1.1. This variant was a late production P-47D-30, fitted with P&W R-2800-57C with 2800 hp on WEP. It was designed to counter German jet fighters and V-1 flying bombs. Air brakes were added to the wing's lower surfaces to allow braking after a dive onto its prey. Only 130 were built, giving limited service in the last months of the war. By Vasco Ribeiro.
