G'Day Mad https://imgur.com/Ivf6VBW
the world of. the ANZAC has been at the to of my bucket list for a very long time but I doubt I will make in person but I plan ti fly over most of it in flight simulator Are you any relation to the Mad in the hilarious Terry Pratchett novel ?
The Last Continent: A Novel of Discworld
This is a sample quote of Mad and its anotation from a website that annotates his books for those that cant research their own cultural references.
- [p. 109] "'This is what I call a knife!' [...] 'No worries. This [...] is what I call a crossbow.'"
Two film references for the price of one. The competitive knife-sizing is straight out of Crocodile Dundee; Mad's move of trumping the whole issue by pulling a crossbow comes from Raiders of the Lost Ark, where Harrison Ford pulls a revolver on a show-off swordsman.
and a bit later on
There is also a well-known Australian folk song that goes:
hi Adrian, 🙂
big things in progress I see. thanks for the explanations. thumbsup!
Big changes, but feels ok. Clear good people are at the wheel.
I was wondering, have all old posts been moved over? (or will they) Those form a huge compendium of info after all.
(Looking at my post-count here makes me think they've all been moved over. 😉 So just checking.)
Thanks much for all the good work,
You've crossed the Pacific in the last two weeks, quite a journey, and yes, it's not called the 'Mighty Pacific' for no reason, it is really BIG. Now that you're in continental USA, am sure you're much more relaxed with plenty of strips to divert to if you need to, and scenery to watch. Will continue to watch your progress back to the Netherlands.
I don't know anything about the new site. I just clicked on a post and typed. The font size you see is what I typed, I didn't adjust font size. But typing this just now, I see at the top of the box a menu ribbon with 'Size' dropdown, it's showing '(Default)' where you can change the size from 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 points etc. Try that. And to the right is menu of a page icon 'Preview' which pops up a box that shows you it what your post will look like.
