It's most likely reason #1. So please use the download portal her, links do work.
I am personally glad I still have my FSX Gold on disks. Just pop into drive and go. Don't see what the problem with that is. And not dependent on my ISP or modem/router. I think this shows the best part of our community, we have myriad ways to access and enjoy.
It's a shame you cannot understand, but the thing is, the old site was broken, or soon would be. It was running on software that was 10+ years old and no longer supported. Sooner or later it would simply cease to work, so being proactive and moving to a new platform before that happened was the right thing to do.
So you're not interested in news, feature articles or files? Those are kind of the heart of the web site...
Why don't you just bookmark the exact page within the site that you prefer? Your browser should be able to bookmark whatever page you want so you can jump right to it.
Why do I keep seeing "Sorry, you aren't permitted to download this file."
Does it mean that you have lost the links in the change, or are you blocking international downloads? I have also tried logging into the flightsimstore and cannot get a link to change the password, but I know that is a separate issue.
This is all too redolent of the great avsim trainwreck.
Changing formats to suit current software is one thing, but I would think that enabling downloading is a fairly fundamental thing to get right first.
