    • Was wondering just how many aircraft there are in the world.  No easy answer. Ascend estimates approximately 24000 functional commercial aircraft, passenger and cargo, with another 2500 in storage. Airliners.net estimates a total of 39000 commercial and military aircraft;  and that over the years 150000 aircraft have been manufactured. These figures do not include GA aircraft nor display aircraft, museums, etc. FlightRadar24 states at any given time there are between 13000 and 16000 aircraft in the air worldwide, but do not state if this is just commercial or includes GA and military. Skybrary claims "approximately 220,000 civil aircraft registered in the U.S.", but no mention if this is commercial and/or GA. Data for GA aircraft is all over the place.  FAA registrations fluctuate around 140000 aircraft, not including kit planes, ultralights, etc.  Over the years Cessna produced 44000 C172s alone. (US manufactured GA deliveries totaled 14,398 single engine piston aircraft in 1978 but only 986 in 2014.)   Pricewaterhouse lists 211743 GA aircraft in the US, this includes single engine, multi-engine, jets, turbo, helicopters, experimental, and "other" (with single engine piston being 130000 of that number).  UK lists 26000 registered GA aircraft, including ultralights and homebuilt. Data for other countries is spotty, in many cases data on number of licensed pilots and number of hours flown is easily found, but nothing reliable on number of aircraft.   So, can anyone elaborate on this?  I am primarily interested in manufactured aircraft still airworthy, not ultralights or experimentals or display aircraft or hulks.
    • It wasn't reason #1. Try doing a file search for "gipsy moth" in the FSX section. I got the message for FSX Gipsy Moths N1510V, G-AAVJ, NC917M, and NC919DH. Then I stopped. Screengrabs zipped as attachment. So links off this forum do not appear to be working as you think, at least from this side of the pond. I'm sure we'll get there in the end, but that may be a bit further down the road. Have there been mass file removals by authors? Fsim_fails.zip
    • "View" is what you are requesting! 😀
    • Definitely bring back the "ZipDive" feature or whatever Feature that allows the User to see the contents of a particular Download, broken down into the individual Folders and Filenames for the Download in question, just like it would show up in Windows Explorer. That Feature is one of the most important in the Library. Also... I would like to know the reason why my Post Count was reduced from some 2,500 Posts down to 611 Posts? Lots of bugs to work out; migrating a Site as large as this one to new Software is a daunting task, but I'll give you guys the benefit of the doubt and allow you some time to work everything out.
    • I'll give the Admins the benefit of the doubt, and wait six Months before I Download anything. That should be enough time for said Admins to get the Site fully up and running.
    • I am using AIG Manager for downloading my AI aircraft etc. Occasionally the system directs me to your sight for the download possibility (see attached screenshot). Contrary to your formrt WEB sight your present layout does not provide me with any info as to where I can find the reuquired download.  Please inform me what to do and/or where I van find the download? regards Dirk Karmelk
    • I am personally glad I still have my FSX Gold on disks. Just pop into drive and go. Don't see what the problem with that is. And not dependent on my ISP or modem/router. I think this shows the best part of our community, we have myriad ways to access and enjoy. A portable DVD RW USB drive costs $20-$30. I get to keep using all the DVDs I've bought through the years.
    • We cannot know without more information. ie the link you are trying to access. If you get an error, this may be: You are using an old link from the old forum - these old links will not work anymore . You need to use the new forum. The file was removed by the author. It's most likely reason #1. So please use the download portal her, links do work. thanks
    • With at least one "Eagle, Globe and Anchor" in the set, its always a winner! Great pics again!
