MarketPlace should carry Freewares also

Recommended Posts

Just as the Apple Store has free and pay apps

the sim Marketplace should be a place for both

I maybe wrong but i suspect MS want to separate and just

put cash earining stuff in the marketplace

A big mistake, because many people will seldom look at it.

If it had freeware you always get inside to check and who knows...

you might decide for a payware...

I agree.

In fact I’ve checking the marketplace to see if there might be any free stuff, but sadly not yet.

At least if there were, it would bring people there more often & MS are more likely to sell addons as well.

I understand, from someone who has made scenery for a number of years and for different flight sims as opposed to only FS9 (which is my situation) that he has investigated making 2020 scenery and dismissed it as a possibility, as it is way complicated. So, freebies made by individuals as opposed to companies are likely to be in small numbers.

When you are used to a specific knowledge, a different mode code restrains you from starting the learning curve from zero. Too much

Leave to the new guys starting fresh on that language.

Its common in computers

Freeware should be made available in the Marketplace, I agree. However, I haven't seen them say it won't happen yet, and think it's a little early to call it a mistake yet. There isn't much in the way of add-ons in general available at the moment.

On the other hand, there are already open source projects starting up to create more realistic A320 in the same vein as the Zibo mod for X-Plane. Something like this could easily give commercial add-ons a run for their money.
