johnzzy... I'm running an i7-4770k and an nVidia RTX 2060 super. I was getting 30-40 fps at medium/low settings, with 16gb of ram. I upped my ram to 32gb and am now getting 50-60 fps on medium/high settings. And it's the slowest/cheapest ram i could find (1600).

So, ram is very important in getting better visuals, as is the gpu.

Asus Z590 P, Intel I7-10700K, nVidia RTX 4070, 64gb ram(3200), 2 nvme ssd (2 tb total),

Samsung QN90B 43" 4k@120hz, Bose Companion 5 PC speakers, Velocity Flight One

I second this. I'm running an RX 580 and adding RAM made a big difference. (Had 16G added 32G.)

I was able to get 32G of 3200 MHz RAM for $105 from Micro Center.

What screen resolution are you running the sim at? 1080p isn't that demanding these days, 1440p noticeably requires more power, and 4k will definitely require some serious GPU power to run at decent settings.

i am running 1440p, and every couple mins i get a freeze for a few secds so i thought adding another 16 GB of 1600 mhz RAM might help.

My RAM is 16GB at 1600mhz and i wanted to know something .........

My motherboard asus Z97A says you can overclock RAM to 3000 mhz, do i have to buy like faster ram like 3200 mhz to accomplish this ? OR can i stick with 1600 mhz RAM ????

thanks

I'm running that same motherboard (Asus z97-a) and I get no stutters at all. Didn't get them even at 16gb... check your sim settings and make sure you're not running at Ultra... if that doesn't help, check your task manager for background applications that may be running. upping your ram, regardless of the speed, will help immensely at reducing stutters.

my monitor is a Samsung C24H89 34inch ultra widescreen 3440 x 1440... at 100hz refresh.
