  1. Hi… I’ve been out of the loop for a while - however - FlyQ GPS used to be an essential for me - had a PC client to connect to your iPad for a moving map display - and at the time it was the only free source of Geo-Referenced Approach Plates I’ve ever seen. Might be worth a look. Regards, Scott
  2. Hi Folks, Nice - ever read “The Stand” ? Regards, Scott Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hi Folks, I don’t know what sim you’re flying - I just had an in flight break up from over stressing my Skylane while flying too close to a cell in IMC landing at Reading PA a few weeks ago... Regards, Scott Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hi Folks, Huh ? LOL - I was a diehard FS9 guy - really no interest in FSX and never used it - I skeptically purchased and setup P3Dv3 and all the usual suspects of addons during a holiday sale period to give it an earnest try - I kept FS9 on my hard drive for two years fully intending to go back and fly my old favorites no matter what happened with P3D - I couldn’t do it - not once - there - is - absolutely - no - going - back - P3D is vastly better than both FS9 and FSX... Just my 2 cents - your mileage may vary... It’s without a doubt - the closest thing that mimics my experience in real cockpits - on a PC... Regards, Scott Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Hi Folks, Where’s the version with the PT6 up front - Reno ? Nice looking plane in an odd sort of way... Regards, Scott Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Hi Folks, Send lawyers, guns, and money... :) Regards, Scott Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Hi Peer, Looks absolutely superb - been following Bernardo’s progress for years... Nice presentation... Regards, Scott Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Hi... If you happen to live and fly in North America - this is your best bet for a completely FREE EFB - that includes the only source of FREE Georeferenced Approach Plates and Taxi Diagrams... Many people have used it for many years without issue... FltPlan GO https://flttrack.fltplan.com/FltPlanInfo/FltPlan_Go-Android-iPad_Info.html Regards, Scott
  9. Hi Folks, Yeah - I have a set of CH Pedals gathering dust in the closet - the most accurate and precise rudder control I’ve managed to get in the sim is via the micro thumb joystick on the CH Pro Throttle... It works quite well... Regards, Scott Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Hi Folks, Correction - had to look it up - wasn’t the Ranger - it was the Big E... Regards, Scott Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Hi Folks, Really nice set - Go Navy. I think it was the Ranger in the late 80’s in San Diego - they had a big sign on the side of Pri-Fly - “Hormuz Highway Patrol” - lol - I thought it was pretty humorous at the time... Regards, Scott Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hi Folks, If you want a "Lear" in P3D - do yourself a favor - get the Flysimware Lear 35A - it's one of the finest aircraft I've ever flown in FS - three years of continual updates and overhauls by a very passionate developer - the last one completely redid all the textures - new texture artists - in full HD 4096x4096, AO, and PBR for P3Dv4 users - the plane is absolutely stunning inside and out... Three years of improvements and massive updates - absolutely free to owners of this fine craft... Unlike some others in the BizJet market - systems in this one simply work... LOL - massive tip tanks are just badass... Note: I am not affiliated with the company in any way - this is just the one bird I keep flying (and painting)... Flysimware Lear 35A Regards, Scott
  13. Hi Kirk, Here’s the video I followed and I used the “Rocket Tool” as well to crack the CPU - with minimal angst and stress... Yeah - Intel got smarter and the 9700K used a better heat transfer material and none of this is needed anymore... Went back to solder instead of paste... https://youtu.be/hrjvmESbsuY Regards, Scott Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hi Kirk, While it's nice to keep them within reason - 90C sounds hot - there is a shutoff in the CPU to stop before damage... The 7700K and 8700K are notoriously hot chips - Intel used a sub par heat transfer material - you should investigate the "delid" process to replace same... I followed a YouTube video and it's really not that bad - I have my 7700K running at 5.0 Ghz and I have yet to exceed 65C under load... A good CPU cooler is essential - the Noctua NH-D15S is probably the best air cooler on the market and the brand has served me well for many years... My last build was a 2700K and I ran it at 4.7 Ghz with temps between 79C-81C under load - and it ran this way for seven years without issue... An OC gives you the most bang for your buck - it's like night and day performance - there's no sense spending top dollar for high end components if you're not going to OC it... It's like paying for a Ferrari and driving it like a Yugo... Just my two cents... Regards, Scott
  15. Hi Greg, Do yourself a favor and try Little NavMap - it's free - under active development - and it's the best one I've ever come across for Flight Sims... Did I mention it's FREE - LOL ? Supported platforms: Windows 7/8/10, macOS (10.10 or newer only) and Linux (64 bit only). Support for Flight Simulator X, Flight Simulator - Steam Edition, Prepar3D v2, v3, v4 and X-Plane 11 (64 bit). https://albar965.github.io/littlenavmap.html Regards, Scott
  16. Hi Adam, Truly superb captures - you've managed to make the ugliest plane to have ever flown - look good - pure magic - sir... :) Regards, Scott
  17. Hi Gerard, Fine set - I loved the old Tin Mouse - my first flight on an airliner was on one of them... I didn't see it mentioned - are you aware of the "Tin Mouse" project over on the other site - Bob Scott spent YEARS building the most advanced panel we've ever seen for the old mouse - works with both the Erick Cantu or Terry Gaff model - more info here: https://www.avsim.com/forums/forum/253-the-tinmouse-support-forum/ I flew the wings off this plane before moving to P3D and the Tin Mouse Project greatly improves it... Regards, Scott
  18. Hi Folks, Yeah - I've used CH since Game Port days - while not flashy - they are solid and work well... It's a shame they never ported their Control Manager software to Win10 - still completely usable without it but the software was quite powerful and you could do some sophisticated things with it... Regards, Scott
  19. Hi Folks, Yep - used and enjoyed UT for years with FS9 - made the jump to ORBX with P3D and there is no going back. One nice thing about ORBX is they have literally hundreds of FREE airports which I spend much time visiting - all improved with a common core library they maintain. They really are a vast improvement over default - but not up to their payware standards... I'm also mostly a GA flier - and my old 2700K @ 4.7Ghz handled ORBX and all the other usual suspects of addons quite handily... This is a seven year old box so you don't need the latest and greatest... I love flying the Caribbean as well... Regards, Scott
  20. Hi... One feature about LNM I truly enjoy - is it can scan your scenery.cfg and will database all your addon airports - then you can select to display ONLY those airports you have addon scenery for - makes it much easier to decide on a destination - especially if you have something like ORBX Freeware airports loaded as their are literally hundreds of them... I spend a great deal of time visiting these ORBX airports... Regards, Scott
  21. Hi Chuck, I've been using my Sandy 2700K OC on air to 4.7Ghz with a Noctua Cooler - a fantastic machine - seriously - for six or seven years now and it still handles everything I throw at it pretty handily. It runs much hotter though - I'm into the low 80C's normally with this box... I was torn on building a new one because it performs so well - but it's time. The Noctua Coolers are rated as some of the best in the market and in performance tests surpass many of the water coolers - top notch product - huge fan (hahaha)... All my builds have used them and I have no intention of changing... The 7700K is my first delid - with the Rocket CPU cracker and following a video on YouTube - it's pretty straight forward - LOL - actually my wife did the work for me as she's very meticulous in all she does and did a superb job (better than I would have done)... Instead of using Thermal Paste - I used one of these graphite pads that had good reviews - worked perfectly and so much easier than dealing with paste - as my results show - two thumbs up in my book... Regards, Scott
  22. Hi... Hmm - yeah - this is the Gigabyte Z270 Ultra Gaming - I'll have to check the parts bag - I seem to recall seeing something like you describe... I didn't see it referenced in the manual though - maybe I missed it... I probably won't go back and pull it apart but I'll file it away for future reference... This is my third build - Conroe - Sandy - now Kaby... i7700k "delid" OC at 5Ghz with a Noctua NH-D15S and (4) additional Noctua case fans... Ran a stress test at 5 Ghz - temps haven't exceeded 65C - I'm pretty happy so far... Regards, Scott
  23. Hi... Thanks for your insights - seems to work - appreciate your help ! Regards, Scott Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
