I used the same youtube link you provided when i first got mine about 3 weeks ago and had some trouble at first. I went back and did it over as he did them (dual monitor helps. One with MSFS, one with youtube) and finally got it to work right. What would be nice is if there was a way to completely delete all mapped settings and build them from the ground up. Going in and clearing inputs and validating is time consuming.

Logbook not working
Disneyflyer replied to Energizer23's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 General Discussion
Mine hasnt worked since October 11 for me. I think that was the day I crossed 1000 hours. Now it only shows my most recent flight and all flights Oct 11 and prior. Its tracking the hours though. I was thinking it was may tied to the 1000 hours thing but am not sure. -
New Airbus A-310
Disneyflyer replied to dnpaul's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 General Discussion
Ive wanted to try it but the views are off for me in the cockpit. Cant see the instruments very well and panning down it gets kind of distorted. It isnt like the 1st player view in all the other aircraft. No other issues so I wonder if others have the same problem or its just my system. BTW, I have the MS download, not Steam. -
How about the crazy loud sound when in external mode. Even when no one else is around there is a loud jet engine sound. Whats crazy is that it isnt always there. Loaded up at an airport with no AI and no multiplayer and its going full tilt. Sometimes happens while in the cockpit mode too, although not as much.

Good evening all, Just a general question. I have had MSFS since it became avail on day one. Built a new machine for it. A few issues over the past 2 years but nothing major and it got me to thinking. What hours are you up to "flying" wise. Right now per the internal logbook I am at 998.5 hours TTL. I know unofficially I passed the 1000 hour mark a while ago as I operated it in developers mode and the hours/flights originally didn't log (not sure if that was on everyone's or just mine). Most of my flights are around 2 hours at a time and the vast majority have been in the FBW A320NX which i really enjoyed. I did just purchase the PMDG 737-800 and remembered how much I loved flying that back in FS9. It took me a bit but now I am back feeling pretty comfortable with it. The Airbus is a engineer/technicians wildest dream while the Boeings sure feel more like a pilots plane (even though it is FBW now too). So, what are you others up to in time wise? Just curious to see where I fall in range.

Great name, just a different spelling 1 Yes, it really is that good. No complaints at all from me. I gave up after FS9 as my old pc could not run FSX at all. With that being said, from 1500ft, it looks great, but getting down in some areas, the textures bleed and it looks like buildings are melting. Flying into airports, you do not notice it. Its only when flying really low and in a city setting. 2 I had the MS Sidewinder 2 FFB joystick. It worked but mapping the controls was a PITA. It does work though 3 and 4 I prefer the Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, plus Logitch Rudder Pedals and Throttle quadrant. I fly the Boeings, plus Cessnas and all add a great sense of realisim. I bought a Logitech Extreme 3d Pro for flying fighters and the Airbus. It is not FFB but I have zero issues with it. Works exactly like I want it to and I would buy again. I just can't justify buying the Thrustmaster Aribus Joystick and throttle controls just to fly the airbus. Hell, sometimes I go rogue and fly the airbus with the yoke. All in all, I have had it since it came out just about 2 years ago. I have over 1000 hours of flying and couldnt be happier. It is only going to get better, especially those of us with the Nvidia cards that support Ray tracing. DLSS is coming really soon and it will really make this thing smoother. There are some great folks on YouTube helping people with micro-stutters and increasing frame rates. Make sure to check them out. Good luck and see you in the virtual air. Jeff

Any particular aircraft that this happens in? Is this in the built in flight planner or programming the flight plan into the FMC yourself? I had an issue with the FBW A320 for a bit. I would put my route in (Example KDFW/KMCO) and set it go to add the SID/STAR plus other flight plan info into it and the flight plan page would just fast scroll. It turns out that my AI Traffic needed to either be set to default livery or something along those lines.

I tried to OC my RTX2070 Super in the bios but it kept failing on that. I did find program that allowed me to set up parameters that would overclock. It was trial and error. Basically set it up highest it could go and start it up. If it crashed, lower settings some. Do it all over again to find that preferred setting. I just gave up trying and set it back to normal and let it run as is. Im getting solid 40fps in most areas. JFK it takes a little hit and drops to 20-25 fps but it is still smooth and not an issue for me now.

Flybywire problem flying
Disneyflyer replied to Miahflyer's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 General Discussion
Dont give up on it. I was in the same boat as you about a year ago and was frustrated beyond belief. I kept at it, read the info, asked for help etc. One day it all clicked and it is the plane I fly the most. Youtube can be a great tool. -

The Salty 747 is pretty darn good for "improvement-ware". So much better than the default 747. Im looking forward to the Maddog and the PMD 737-800 myself. -

Finally My Turn
Disneyflyer replied to rjdahlen's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 General Discussion
Well, apparently I caught the bug too. Never had any issues prior but I now get the sim cannot open blue banner message as well. Logged out of Xbox and Microsoft, rebooted logged in and nothing. Says I can try updating by the xbox app but it says only reinstall. I don't understand why it has to be this damn difficult to update software. Edited to add... uninstalled on the app, rebooted. Open App installed, gets to 100% and then says it failed at 99%. They sure do make this a royal PITA -
Ok, I know MSFS is not DCS and there is nothing flying off the rails or falling from the racks, but which is the better quality. The F16 or the F15. Ya I know there is a F14 out there too but Navy is already covered with the Super Hornet so I'd like an USAF plane other than the C17. Trying to decide between the 2 and I have a gift card that is just burning a hole in my pocket. The F16 is the newest one and looks really good. The F15 is only about a year old now but I remember when it first came out there were some issues and some folks were not all that happy. The bright side is on the 15 you get the C, D, E and I model. Anyone have both and want to provide some good/bad on both. I think I am leaning more towards the F16 but that Strike Eagle sure does look nice. Thanks!

"Tearing" in Scenery?
Disneyflyer replied to Grover2005's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 General Discussion
Did this just start happening? Did you update video drivers lately? If yes, try going back to prev version. If you are running TAA try changing that setting down one notch. -
Good morning, Question, has anyone else had this happen. Moved computer from PC Monitor to TV and tried to start up MSFS. I am getting the message please insert the Microsoft Flight Simulator Game Disc Only problem is I don't have a disc. I downloaded from the online store. I removed the Community Folder and I am still getting it. The only thing different is the location of the computer itself being hooked up to the TV. Any other thoughts or suggestions?
