  1. Thanks Mark, only just saw your reply a moment ago. Yes, I was assuming FS Recorder was at fault because that's the only time I see this tear problem. I've added a couple of lines to the fsx.cfg for vsync which seems to help but too soon to really say yet.
  2. Hi, just wondering if someone can help. I'm using FS Recorder in FSX (acceleration) and it works well. The only problem is that the FS Recorder cameras (spot and tower cameras) cause the clouds to tear and shimmer like they've been cut with a knife. Scenery is fine...just clouds. The default FSX cameras are fine, no problems there and Chaseplane cameras are good too with clouds. I'm using an ATI Radeon gfx card on a good system with the latest drivers (tried all driver versions to no ) on Windows 10. This is the only problem I'm having. If anyone has an idea, please let me know. Thanks! There is no FS Recorder website/forum anymore.
  3. It was January but I'll jump around a few days at a time and see if that works. It's just mountain snow I'm after but it's not a deal breaker, just a bit of realism. I'll find the bgl file, I know where it lives, back it up and see what I can do with it.
  4. JSkorna...that's interesting. Could you point me in the direction regarding how I do that and which specific scenery file? I set 'winter' setting in FSX but still no snow on the mountains. Thanks.
  5. I've had a look...I selected 'Winter Wonderland', saw the snow right down to sea level. Switched to 'Custom weather' but can find no way to only have the snow on the mountain tops. Is it possible, I'm obviously missing something here? Thanks for your help.
  6. PhrogPhyler. Thanks for checking this out. I'll have another look when I get home and reply here.
  7. Just wondering if there's any way to trigger snow on an 8000 foot mountain range in FSX. This mountain range, in the real world, has heavy snow in the winter but none at all in FSX, regardless of the month. The country is Lebanon.
  8. Fortunately, deleting the file only removed the apron ground vehicles. I backed the file up just in case but it seems to have done exactly what I was looking for. I had tried everything else I could think of.
  9. Eventually figured it out even though it probably isn't the correct method. I deleted the ezs.bgl file from the add-on scenery folder and all airport ground vehicles are now gone.
  10. Hoping that someone can help me, I'm at a dead end. Trying to finish a FSX history film project I've been working on for a year and now I'm very stuck. This is an add-on airport based in the 1960s. I do have the ADE files required if it helps. I have ringed in red the ground vehicles I want to remove in the FSX image. My Display/Traffic settings in FSX have Airport Vehicle Density set to zero. Any help gladly received. Thanks!
  11. Il88pp, thank you for looking at this problem, very much appreciated. I haven't tried to change anything to the default airport as I figured it would be problematic. I only have the one add-on activated as far as I can see in the Scenery listing but I think I can see what you mean. I'll not touch anything until you reply. Thanks again!!
  12. Which addon airport exactly. (plus link maybe) https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?searchid=84773837 It's the second file listed "olba1959.zip" I know that this add-on was built for FS9 but it does work perfectly well, with the advice of the author, in FSX. He is fine with me altering the ILS for my own use. And describe ILS issue. The ILS (all four runways) for the default modern airport lies over the ILS of the old add-on airport (all four runwyas) and prevents me from tuning my aircraft to the add-on airport ILS. . From what I can understand, perhaps the default ILS has to be orphaned but I will take your advice on that. Basically, I need to eliminate any traces of the fsx default Beirut airport (OLBA) that I possibly can and have the ILS settings of the add-on airport show and work. Ils freq. and heading default airport... OK, there are four runways as follows for the default airport....I'm not sure how to work out the exact heading of a runway. RWY 03_Hdg=290_ILS=110.70MHz RWY 17_Hdg=166_ILS=110.10MHz RWY 18_Hdg=174_ILS=109.50MHz RWY 21_Hdg=209_ILS=111.90 MHz Ils f&h addon airport... ( is different or not??) The add-on (olba1959) has four runways in an X formation. This add-on airport sits on top of the default airport when installed in FSX and hides it too, including the default runways. So far, so good. RWY 04 I have no ILS or heading data because of the default airport over ruling the add-on RWY 18 Hdg=174_ILS=109.50MHz RWY 22 I have no ILS or heading data because of the default airport over ruling the add-on RWY 36 I have no ILS or heading data because of the default airport over ruling the add-on And what Ils do you want? and why? for AI? for user aircraft? I don't mind what frequency the new ILS data has, just need it to work. It is only for user aircraft, not AI. Thank you so much for trying to help me out on this problem.
  13. Yes, for FSX with Acceleration pack, not SE.
  14. Thank you Jon, I will look into doing that. Still finding my way around ADE. While I'm here, is it also possible to remove minute parts of default scenery? In this case, the add-on airport completely covers the default which is good. It is a coastal airport with a sea wall adjacent to one runway (in the default scene.) The add-on scenery doesn't have the sea wall but the wall lies outside the add-on and is basically a default scenery sea wall, if you follow. Can I remove the wall somehow. It would be replaced or covered with basic sea water.
  15. "If it completely hides the default airport then I am not sure why you want to remove it" Thank you for your replies. The reason I want to remove the default airport is because the ILS of the default airport is interfering with the ILS of the add-on airport The approach paths of both overlap each other. Both airports share the same geographical coordinates. The runway configuration is almost identical but the add-on ILS can't get through so it can't be used. Removing the default ILS would be a big step. Chris
  16. Thank you Mark. I did find v 2.17 which also has a video rendering option but will check yours out too. I did install v 2.17 and the option is there. Strangely, this version eliminates FSUIPC from the menu options.
  17. I'm using FSX with the Acceleration pack (not Steam) and have installed an old 3rd party airport designed for FS9. It works fine in FSX and the old 1960s runways are there too. It completely hides the default FSX airport so no problem there. My question is...should I delete the default airport from FSX? The old airport geographically more or less is located where the default airport lies in the real world, give or take a hundred metres or so. Both have the same ID "OLBA" which is Beirut , Lebanon in the Middle East. Could I rename the old OLBA to something else and still have it? I'm trying to add ILS to the old airport in ADE and it's not taking. I suspect that having two OLBA designations might have something to do with it. Hope someone can help, I'm pretty stuck at the moment. Thank you, Chris
  18. Hello everyone. I have got myself into a big problem. I'm running FSX with the Acc Pack on Win 10 and no problems until yesterday. All of a sudden, I can't tune the Nav and Comm buttons at all, they just remain frozen but...if I load a flight or even start a new flight anywhere in the world and the screen starts in pause mode, I can tune them. As soon as the pause is disengaged and we're flying, the problem begins. The AP button disengages and cannot be reactivated, the radios freeze. If the flight begins in 'unpaused', the problem is there. This applies to every single aircraft including default aircraft. I have tried 'SHIFT+M' but this only turns the buttons and panels off or on and has no bearing on the problem. I haven't installed anything new recently except a 3rd party scenery package which displayed fine. As I say, I've had no problems with FSX on Win 10 until last night. This is the only problem but I can't find a way around it and was wondering if anyone had come across this before. Really hope someone can help as I'm working on a FSX video project over almost a year now and this has stopped me dead in my tacks. Thanks for any help you can give me. Chris
  19. Hi Hal, thank you for your reply. I know that FS Recorder is basically a data recorder but the author of the software, before his website was deactivated had this to say at the end of one of his posts back in 2010...."An experimental alpha version to test the announced video rendering feature will be released in the next days.” He must have released this alpha version because other users had later commented on how fantastic it was to get flawless video from the software. That alpha version was numbered 2.1 alpha. Yes, it could take quite some time to render the flight recording data as video but that was the beauty of the function, even if you had a fairly slow PC, FS Recorder would take it's own sweet time to give you a finished video. I've been using FS Recorder v1.3 for some years now but if anyone has that version.....please let me know.
  20. Hi, does anyone happen to have the FS Recorder version that has the ability to video render the playback? The FS Recorder website has long been derelict and the big advantage of that version is that FS Recorder can render to video a smooth playback by slowing down the playback so there are no stutters. I have searched high and low but can't find the download file. I hope someone has it and would be willing to share it with me as it is freeware. Many thanks.
  21. I have FSX with the acceleration pack (not Steam) and it's installed on my D drive in a "Microsoft Games" folder I created for the complete FSX install, so it reads D/Microsoft Games/FSX. I'm hoping that should be ok. Is it not a bit strange that you can alter the camera altitude in the other external 'view' options but not in FlyBy?
  22. TextRich, thank you for replying. I had a look at the post you suggested and will give it a go. I am somewhat wary about editing cfg files within the FSX root structure. I did that two weeks ago and had to reinstall everything despite a backup of the file.
  23. I'm trying to change the point where the virtual camera in FlyBy view is located. At present, I'm way above the aircraft as it flies past. I can change the distance no problem, it's the vertical axis I'm struggling with. I'm using keyboard and mouse, no external hardware. Thanks.
  24. Wim, thank you very much. I must have missed seeing the zip icon on that page due to the jpegs. I'll download the file and see how it plays with FSX. Then I'll give it a coat of paint in ALIA colours. Thanks again!
