  1. Robin, get well soon, thanks for the post
  2. Great analysis Chris. You're probably spot on. My hope may be the boys at TDS. Fingers crossed.
  3. Hi gang. Figured I'd float this question here. Do we think we will see any new aircraft for FS9. TDS has certainly done some new ones over the past few years with a 757 and most recently the excellent A350. The only plane really missing from FS9 is the A320 NEO family. I don't think project airbus exists anymore but maybe TDS would do one. The A320 NEO is becoming quire popular, Any thoughts?
  4. Hi gang. This may be a real stupid question but I'm simply not a computer guy and I found nothing on this when I googled it. My sim laptop is telling me to update my browser (to say, google chrome). And I want to, as a lot of websites don't load properly. But does updating your browser at all have an impact on my FS9 load? Cause I don't want to jeopardize that. So just asking...
  5. I think if you reach out to their support they may still sell you an FS9. I think maybe I did that awhile back, but I could be wrong.
  6. Hey, a question from someone who is still sticking with FS9 but nosing around FS2020. Do you HAVE to be connected to the internet to run this, even if you're not looking for updated weather? Sounds here on this blog like you have to always be connected to the net??? If so I won't even try it. Sounds like trouble.
  7. Could not agree more here. 15 years in and I am still amazed how great FS9 is for simming. I get 60 FPS and smooth as silk, and all the add-ons, aircraft and airports, are great. Only real issue I ran into recently was on some FSDreamteam Hawaii airports, can't download them and even that's apparently cause I have windows 8.1. But otherwise, long live FS9
  8. Before anyone scolds me, I have researched this topic but can't seem to find exact issue I'm experiencing. I purchased a bunch of blue print simulation airports. they're really good. But the nightime window twxtures really need help. So used dxtb (or whatever it's called) to edit other nightime window photos into the blue print _lm textures. It works, they look more like real nightime airport windows, but it makes the airport buildings transparent. Any way to prevent this. I read that you add a solid black texture and name it the same as the t_bmp texture, but I alreaady am changing the night texture that comes with it.
  9. Hey gang. I see in the TDS 787 aircraft config that there are camera views listed as like Seat 5A, or seat 22F. I'll assume these are wing views. I cant find anywhere how to access these. Now, I do currently have active camera so I really don't need them, active camera IS my seat views. But I worry one day when I have to re-download my FS9 on a new computer and I can no longer activate active camera (yes, I know someone here shows us to you can without access code but in case that doesn't work). I need to know how to activate the TDS wing views. Maybe it's in the VC mode but because my active camera works in VC mode I don't see the wing views that come with the plane. ANy thoughts???
  10. OK, I'll take some notes on your video should I need to one day try it. I'm just gonna hope my current computer lasts for a long time. If for some reason I ever need your method, but it doesn't work, the upside is I still have a third-party panel that allows u to pre-set cabin views. It's not as great as active camera but it will still always allow me to "pick my seat".
  11. Hi Gang - let me ask if I may - if you install this new add-on, does it override any third party add-ons such as airports. Or does it just update basic FS9 textures and leave any add-ons alone?
  12. Great - so I'll be able to figure out how to do it if I watch your video?
  13. Hornet - thx. Forgive this dumb question but what do you mean by the crack working. Does that mean I can still get it working without an update code?
  14. HI GUYS, COUPLE QUICK QUESTIONS. Can you have both walk & follow AND active camera at the same time. I have Active Camera which is great for choosing my seat, so to speak. But for walking around outside I believe walk and follow is better, AND, is it true that Active Camera is no longer supported for FS9. I ask only cause I'm afraid if I ever have to reload my FS9 I won't be able to reload my Active Camera. In the old days you would just send an email with your reg code and the guy (I forget his name) would send you an update code to relaunch it. If true, that's disappointing, if the maker was gonna abandon it he should have provided a permanent code for you to turn it back on. But maybe I'm wrong.
  15. Hi gang - most bizarre problem I've run into in 16 years of FS9. Here goes. Purchased FSDreamteam KFLL today. Try to install it as I've always done dream team sceneries, and after inputting my activation code that simmarket sent me, it asks for yet another activation code, via esellerate, which is an installer that doesn't exist anymore. It kept crashing my system. I went back and forth with a help analyst at FS Dream Team, he kept telling me I was doing it wrong. I'd download the installer from HIS site, and purchased the scenery from HIS site (after purchasing from simmarket first) and entering the registration code from HIS site, and it kept asking for a code for esellerate. He kept telling me that was impossible. But what I noticed when I kept trying this was the home page for FS9 (i.e. where you set up your flight) looked different. I couldn;t place it. THEN, I realized: I could see the pic of the default plane spinning in the window. I haven't seen that in years. It's been blacked out. I believe that has something to do with the windows version and/or the FS9 version you're using. And then I noticed when FS9 started to reboot after the esellerate crash, it said FS9 is restarting, not FS9.1. So did I somehow resort to 9.0 vs 9.1 by mistake? When I shared this with the dream team analyst he said of course, their software won't work with 9.0. That pic of the plane tells me something changed on my system. Anybody have any thoughts. And does updating to 9.1 basically reset my entire FS9 and force me to reload all add-ons?
  16. Thx for posting. Again though, I just shake my head at what certainly appears to be continued challenges around FPS and the trade-offs you have to make...in this day and age. I'm no computer geek, so maybe I don't understand the challenges of high FPS with a game such as this. And I felt that way since FSX was released. I would think, and obviously I'm ill-informed, that if I can get a smooth 60 FPS on FS9 (16 years old) at high settings, that a 2020 game could provide the same with higher end graphics than FS9 offers. I'm dumbfounded by that. I'm not spending the money. Long live FS9. But again, thx for posting. A lot of interesting data here.
  17. HERE! HERE! Long live FS9. Sorry, sometimes old school is best. Third party airplanes that are exact replicas, great third party airports, and graphics that aren't great but aren't terrible give they're 16 years old.
  18. I'd have preferred just an eye candy update to FS9. So you could use the same aircraft, add-ons etc. Id the negativity here is true, what s shame....and a disgrace. I certainly seem to read a lot more negative than positive. Now if you'll excuse me, I have an FS9 flight to do with a flawless TDS 787 and two beautiful airports....at 60 FPS.
  19. Just throwing this out there to anyone who has purchased. How does the wing view work??? Can you sit anywhere in the plane? That's what I loved about active camera for FS9. Sit anywhere you want and look out the window, in any direction. Would be a shame if this isn't standard in 2020.
  20. I, too, am surprised project airbus didn;t do a simple update to their A320 family that just has the correct large engines. Maybe they aren't around anymore (i.e. project airbus). Would have been great though. The A320 is even finer looking with the larger engines
  21. good news on the 60 fps. That alone may make me buy this. That's why I've stuck with FS9 all these years. I need 60 fps. I'll buy whatever rig I need and looks like you are getting with i5. I have i7. Thx for feedback
  22. Can you clarify what undockable views for multiple monitors means.
