  1. OK, this is an older thread, but I use prepar3d v4.5 as my retro-sim regulary and got the same problem. My solution was to import the model in ModelconverterX and export it as native Prepare3d v4.4 model. There is also a newer Posky744 folder that comes with the pbr-models.
  2. Yes, it's easy to do. Move your simobject folder to the other drive and then create a hardlink in the FSX root folder. Installing a new aircraft will be automatic installed on the other drive. Search Google for create hardlink. there is a programm that helps you to create it easily.
  3. Can't download anything (Austria). Always get "403 forbidden" ???
  4. Holy crap. What a change without any warning. I was not able to reach fligtsim.com in the last days in Austria, always get an 403 error. After using a VPN I came here and what I see is not very satisfying me. Changing to a software that looks like an alpha version for me is a no go. Sorry to say but I will not come back to this garbage. Luckily there a very good alternatives.
  5. I have a i7 3770k@4,8ghz with 16gb G.Skill TridentX2666@2600. I notice such freezes for about 2-3sec ~3 times since the install of MSFS. Faster and more ram could help a little bit but first take a look in the manual of your Mobo what ram is supported. Also if you should use 2 or 4 sticks is important for max speed. Google for ram sets that fit your mobo best.
  6. I have a perfect working P3dv4.5 with a bunch of self optimized and custom made aircrafts that I realy love. Also spend a lot of money for scenery that never looked so good as MSFS. I will use MSFS for about ~85% of my flying and in 2 or 3 years 99% when I have the my most wanted aircraft. P3d and also my old FS2004 will ever stay on my disk so I can ever make a retro flight when my head need one :) I'm realy happy that this old fsx engine is history!
  7. On longer flights I always get CTD. Looking in the eventviewer I find two errors. First a unknown error of Flightsimulator.exe and under system a processor error "parity check error". Googled for this brings me to the Spectre and Meltdown patches from Microsoft. For my "old" mainbord Asrock Z77extreme6 there was no bios update available. Now I disabled the patches with InSpectre and tried some longer flights. No CTD and parity check errors anymore. If anyone with older hardware have the same problem maybe take a look at this.
  8. I always kept my old sims (disk space is so cheep today) because of when I get retro feelings I can start them anytime. But I'm sure I will use MSFS2020 98% of the time. After the first five days I'm so impressed with it and we are just at the beginning. How would it be in three years when the first bugs are all cleared !?!
  9. I have an Saitek Cyborg Evo. It's working well now but you must reasign all functions. Take me around 40min to do this.
